So I've been thinking--

I feel like laddering is a bit like exercise. Some people love getting up at early in the morning and going until their bodies beg them to stop, every single day. A lot of other people have to be physically dragged out of bed to the gym on January 2nd, after their resolution loses its shine.

It's not that I can't ladder once I get going, or even that I'm bad at it (I am 19-6 of my last 25 games). It's just so hard to get started. Once I get started, I often get frustrated by dumb things and just want to rage quit, because I have no one to keep me going.

I am not really interested in a practice partner. I already have quite a few of those. Problem is, most of them really dislike laddering, and would rather stick to custom games and discussing strategies and replays. That's fine, and I appreciate it.

What I really feel like I need right now though, is someone who will get on Skype with me, and ladder while I do, 1v1. We don't have to discuss the games afterwards, or talk about strategies. I just want someone to say "wtf" to when the guy I am playing randomly leaves 3 minutes in, or to rage to when I get walled in with pylons, or to scream "OMG SO GOOD" to when my burrowed banes kill every single marine. They don't even actually have to pay much attention, they don't have to be on the same server, they don't have to be remotely close to my league, I just want to have a body there to talk to and share the laddering experience with me. Sorta like a running partner.

This didn't really seem to fit with the practice partner thread, and I couldn't find any other threads like this. So asking you here TL-- anyone else want a laddering partner?

About me in case you care:

Gold league zerg, funny, pretty nice but I can be trollsy when I've had a lotta caffeine. Learning to use a mouse so I say "clickclickclick" to myself under my breath a lot. Junior in uni. Work really random odd hours. I swear, not in an obnoxious way really, unless you don't like any swearing at all. I don't like people who are racist or sexist. I am srsbsns about wanting to improve. Love the community, and hoping to start going to some LANs soon (not to play yet).

Sure, I'd be interested in this.

It'd help me as well, it'd be nice to have some motivation to start laddering. ^^

I won't able to play for most of today (but you probably don't live in Australia so our time zones are likely different), but in ten or so hours after this post is made I'll be home and up for games.

I'm a platinum terran/random player, so we're pretty close in skill.

Just PM me with your skype details and I'll add you when I get home tonight. =)

OP: It would be great if you could mention your location, or it would be impossible to skype if timezones are too far apart.

I'd be really interested as well! I always have a stream playing in the background ( just like tv background noise i guess ), but I think having a real person to interact with would be better!

Oh damn, you're right. o.o I thought I had my country displayed, lol.

I live in Eastern US. However, I am often up until 5 a.m. and sleeping during the day, or sometimes sleeping at 8 pm and waking up super early to play... pretty much any random time of day because I set my own hours, which are pretty damn crazy. So even if some people are totally different timezone, probably isn't that big a deal.

PM me Skype info if you're interested. ^_^

Heh Hit me up. I'm a diamond terran. I sometimes silent rage and I need motivation to help me get started.I'm like a big ladder freak and think ladder is the only thing that matters. I used to play zerg as well. I live in the PST and I'm on break right now so I'll be available a lot.
Add me on Bnet is you are interested. Kai-414

You can also stream your games and have your ladder partner watch on the stream, might be better than you just telling them about the game and them talking about it. I don't think I ever would, as I really concentrate when I play, but yeah, go for it.

You're missing the point. OP wants to be on skype with someone while that person is laddering as well. (As mentioned above, just like a jogging partner). It's more of a motivational thing rather than "sharing your jogging experience" thing
