Preface:
Let's take a step back in the so far short life of Starcraft2 and the GSL. Back when IdrA was still in the GSL, Artosis was experimenting with hairstyles, FruitDealer was a name to be feared and most importantly before the dominance of NesTea, MVP and MC began.
One of Artosis' Classic Hairstyles
We look back to the GSL Open Season II, a season that overall was quite big in the sense of popularity for Starcraft 2, where big SC:BW names such as NaDa and BoxeR made their SC2 debuts and although JulyZerg was ready to debut he did not manage to make it though the qualifiers, sadly eliminated by a Protoss player simply known as Gaybar. The season also had a huge upset very early on in the tournament, where the previous champion, Fruitdealer, the Cinderlla Zerg player who, against all odds, fought his way through a sea of Terrans to victory was taken our very early in the tournament - in the Round of 32 - by a relatively unknown player. This player was none other then MarineKing, also making his GSL debut and back then had taken the ID Boxer but became referred to as Foxer by the foreign fans. MarineKing went on to finish second after his very aggressive marine style was forcefully put to a halt by none other then the Detective Zerg, Nestea.
The Battle:
On October 26th two future titans engaged in battle, following a series between IMmvp Vs oGsZenio, where MVP was taken down by Zenio in a highly entertaining series.
Artosis and Tasteless begin by provide some background information about our two heroes, recapping how the poor Protoss player lost in the first season in the Round of 64 to PoltPrime's banshee timing and also giving him some hype feeling as though he was a force to be reckoned with, one of the Tastosis's better hypes (sadly not working for Cliiiiiide). Nestea's introduction recap's upon his lackluster BW career of being a 2v2 player and never accomplishing much, although he still was a pro with an extensive career with a lot of experience. MC is hailed as the better player and Nestea is seen as the underdog going into the match-up.
Early beginnings, Private First Class Nestea and MC reporting for duty
Game 1:
NesTea < Scrap Station > MC
+ Show Spoiler +
Starting positions begin with Nestea in the 2 o'clock position and MC gets the 12 o'clock position. Standard openings for both players, pool first with gas for Nestea which leads to getting fast zergling speed upgrade followed by putting down a safe hatchery for Nestea. MC on the other hand does a standard gateway then gas opening, but once the Cybernetics Core is down, then MC takes a second gas (at the 3minute mark).
Nothing Unusual Right?
Now MC throws down two gates on camera which leads Artosis and Tasteless to believe that MC is going for a three gate expand, but for mere mortals to try to perceive the inner monologues of the Kratos Protoss. They are proven to be incorrect as another gate gets thrown down shortly after the camera moves away, meaning MC means business and is looking to be aggressive. All the while, the expansion for Nestea has completed and he continues to drone, unsuspecting.
Four Gates are not Enough, need more aggression!
Within a minute of the predication of an expansion we see MC throw down a Twilight council. As MC looks to make his army even more fearsome while Nestea continues playing his safe solid style by adding a Roach Warren and getting his Lair Tech on the way.
I move in the shadows
MC continues to one base as he throws down the Dark Shrine and sends his units out to start marching across the map towards Nestea. All during this time Nestea's Lair Tech has completed, he has a fully running natural and has a couple of roaches being produced.
Will MC's choice of timing for this attack have been slow, will Nestea have had enough time to hold off the onslaught that is encroaching towards him?! ... Find out next time on Dragonb- Just kidding.
this is where Nestea's style shows itself, even in his early days, he looks almost impenetrable.
An Overseer you say?
Nestea has an Overseer out, blindly, showing that he is a very safe smart player. He's seen that MC has no expansion and that there is an attack coming, you cannot keep your secrets safe from the detective zerg. But is simply knowing enough as he has a pittance of units to actually defend the attack. With 3 roaches and a handful of lings, and more units on the way, will it be enough!
The battle rages, as the Overseer hides at the back
MC moves in for the attack, and seems to be overwhelming his opponent as the dark templar's come in from behind. Some nice forcefields prevent some zerglings and roaches from being too effective and MC is looking strong as the dark templars get in and start slashing at the roaches.
Nestea is forced to pull back as he waits for more units to be produced and is able to successfully snipe out the dark templars thanks to his Overseer and MC is forced back as his attack is no longer threatening.
RETREAT
Nestea is now in a commanding position, with a huge supply advantage. 78 Supply for Nestea vs 46 Supply of MC (40 drones vs 32 probes). MC steps back to his base and attempts to throw down an expansion. Nestea begins breaking down the middle rocks for a quick passage to his opponents base.
The final battle
MC throws up the forcefields he has and kills off a few units that were trapped in front but it's no where near enough, with Blink not even halfway completed and such an underwhelming amount of units versus the large army of Nestea. Nestea simply waits out the forcefields holding back his Roaches and crushes through MC's army and goes ahead to take the first game as MC GG's out

+ Show Spoiler +
Game two occurs on the classic map, Lost Temple, before the shattering occurred and the high ground still existed at the natural, making life difficult for zerg's sometimes.
The game begins and Nestea gets lucky as he is given cross spawns - even though zergs love close spawn! Nestea spawn's at the 6 o'clock position and MC in the 12 o'clock, with MC a game down and his 1 base push having no effect on Nestea's defenses what strategy will he try to pull out this time to come back with a win?
Both players start out with similar builds to the first game, Nestea with pool and gas, MC with gateway then gas. Nestea once again waits for zergling upgrade before putting down his hatchery at his natural. MC in the meantime has begun warpgate technology and puts down a Robotics Facility.
Nestea continues with his safe play and throws down a roach warren, while MC does something outside the box.
Protoss can drop harrass too!?
MC Loads up three stalkers and moves out killing some overlords on his way, supply blocking Nestea.
There goes the element of surprise
Nestea now knows what is coming and what MC is most likely planning. With a spinecrawler going down at the natural for Nestea, MC reloads the Warp Prism and makes his way down. MC blocks his ramp with an FF to stop two zerglings from getting inside his main and then sends the rest of his gateway unit's to march towards Nestea's natural.
Warp Prism trying to show he's useful too!
MC has a total of 6 stalkers on the high ground and Nestea has 2 spinecrawlers ready and made in an attempt to deal with this with a third one being built. The overlord is able to spot the high ground for the spinecrawlers, so this attempt is not as effective as MC would have liked. MC manages to take out one of the spinecrawlers while the rest of his gateway units idle at the front of his base and allow the spinecrawler in production to complete.
Nestea battles from the low ground as overlords have more vision then stalkers have range.
More Warp-In's into a losing battle
As MC warps in those two more stalkers he moves all of his units in to try and break Nestea.
Spinecrawlers doing all the work
MC nicely forcefields and the roaches are effectively blocked out and not helping Nestea at all during the battle, but the spinecrawlers go to work on the sentries, demolishing them and a few zerglings sneak past the forcefields and buffer hits for the ranged units.
MC, like in game one is forced to retreat and attempt to expand. 76 Supply for Nestea and 44 Supply for MC. MC continues to try to harrass with the warp prism and some stalkers at the natural and while it continues to be a thorn in Nestea's side, it is not very effective.
Nestea takes a third at the 9 o'clock main and harrass's a little with some speedlings and it becomes an uphill battle for MC. During all the harrass and the battle, Nestea had managed to complete a spire and has 9 mutalisks on the way.

Put that Immortal on it's back so it can help against the Muta's!
Lings and Mutas move into the natural of MC and while they don't kill off all of the units they are able to take out the immortal, alot of stalkers, probes and move through to the main to snipe more probes putting MC even farther behind.
Nestea gets his revenge on that pesky Prism
Nestea's mutas discover the Warp Prism hiding in the corner and takes it out. At this start of the game the nails are almost in the coffin for MC, 33 probes vs 56 drones and more Mutalisks's on the field then Stalkers. Nestea moves in with his mutalisks directly into MC's stalkers causing MC to GG.
Nestea takes the series 2-0!

I had a lot of fun writing this up, first time doing a blog / writeup thing. Not the most exciting games, but I just liked the nostalgic factor. During writing it I realised that the Open Season 2 had a lot of stuff going on for Sc2 in KR with the appearance of old and new heroes for fans.
If you read it all thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed it ^_^ If you're a newer Sc2 fan and haven't seen some of the 'older' games some of them are worth checking out.
