Been dreading this for a month since they dont put you asleep or anything... hopefully I can get some pain meds afterwards already have some bud. Just want it to be over so I can chill out and watch/play Sc2 for a couple days. I've been told its nowhere near as bad as it sounds but of course Im pretty freaked out. Cystoscopy is a test that allows your doctor to look at the inside of the bladder and the urethra using a thin, lighted instrument called a cystoscope .
The cystoscope is inserted into your urethra and slowly advanced into the bladder . Cystoscopy allows your doctor to look at areas of your bladder and urethra that usually do not show up well on X-rays. Tiny surgical instruments can be inserted through the cystoscope that allow your doctor to remove samples of tissue (biopsy) or samples of urine.

Once advice : don't get a boner, as it could break the cystoscope and you would end with a part of cystoscope somewhere between your dick and your bladder. At the meantime, I wish you that the doctor is gonna be a sexy female doctor though.

They give a local anesthesia, then insert the cytoscope, it might be a weird sensation but prolly not painful.
Then generally they'll fill the bladder up with saline which expands the bladder, allowing the doctor to see all of it easier, this feels a bit funny apparently, like you need to wee. Yes there might be a bit of tissue taken for biopsy but its not like theyre sticking a huge scalpel up there, and you are anesthetised. You might have blood in the urine afterwards

More seriously, it's a way like another to diagnose stuff, that's all. Usually it's to detect polyps in the bladder or stones in the urinary tract. I hope results will be good and OP has nothing serious.
That looks scary. I've gotten a tube up to empty my bladder several times. Its pretty common as they want you to pee before you go home after you've been sleeping. It can take some time before your system wakes up and work properly after a operation or whatever they are up to. The only time it feels weird is when they are entering the bladder, it hurts just a little bit. Afterwards when you pee it can hurt as well at least it does for me.

haha yea.. Im only 20 though so I never thought I would have to do this at this age
all in all it wasn't really that bad ... really uncomfortable and weird feeling they found out what was giving me trouble urinating and scheduled me for surgery at least for the surgery I will be 100% asleep
