So the good news is that Stress invited me into a 4v4 match, which we won but I got nothing out of. I need to do my team placement matches on all levels. I've been hyper-focused on my 1v1 rating and getting out of Bronze. Anyway, after the match we talked and he met me in a Custom Game to help me practice my macro. I was beaten but he had good things to say and tips to help me increase my build speed. I still feel like a boxer who doesn't quite have the rhythm of the fight right, which is why I keep stepping into punches to the face.
The bad news is I'm now out of the top 8. I'm only rank 9, just behind them, but the way I've been playing lately hasn't been very good. I have to remind myself to keep building SCVs and Marines, despite the fact I have the CCs and rax conveniently bound to hotkeys (4 and 5). I'd really love to just build Marines and Marauders and roll my way to victory but more and more it seems like Bronze players are slipping past my simplistic builds with things like Mutalisk harassment, Dark Templars and Tank/Banshee. I'm probably just not building Marines fast enough. Hopefully this busy week at work just has me a touch out of practice and this weekend will help me get back into the groove.
MP placement might help, too. Having someone else with whom to share attacking responsibilities may give me breathing room to practice my macro.

Day9 said recently that Dustin Browder wanted the order a person plays SC2 to be 4v4, 3v3, 2v2, then finally 1v1 so that you become accustomed to the game without the pressure a solo environment brings. So yes, placing in team leagues would give you some breathing room and take some of the stress out of the situation.
Good luck dood.

I can’t see how this is either good or bad. Or news for that matter. What is this blog even about?

Alright, I fired up 1 of your replays, things I noticed(The TvZ one)
You should send your scv faster to your ramp on 10 supply, you wait ill you have 100 minerals, giving you a surplus of minerals of 100 minerals which can not be used for anything and effectivly supply blocking yourself.
Send your scv on 10 supply out on roughly 60-70 minerals, so that you have no surplus.
You are floating way too many minerals at the start, you went for a 2rax opening with gas which you don't use, use the excess minerals(you had like 700 at some point) to throw down a quick Expansion INSIDE your base, you do this, but waaaay too late.).
Your gas is not going in anything, when you are on 300 gas or so, thrown down a factory, reactors or tech labs and start teching. Again, you do this way too late.
Spend your resources as you go, having a large bank means nothing until the very late game.
6 guys on 1 geyser, way too many, you were also floating a large amount of minerals but had problems with gas, take your expo refinerys as fast as you can when you notice that you miss gas but have excess minerals.
Pressure, I can't stress this enough, the Zerg had little to no army(your macro, while not good was much better then his).
All warfare is based upon deception Sun Tzu(nice sig)
Scouting is key, if you would throw a scan or just stim a marine up there you'd see that he has little to nothing and can just a-move him at that point.
Ill add more when I have time, but thats just it for now.

Rank means absolutely nothing, and is affected almost solely by the # of games you play. What actually matters is your win-loss ratio (and as a result of that, MMR). Being rank 1 in a division, many times, means you are farther away from advancing to the next league since you've already played so many games in (for example) bronze and the matchmaking system thinks you are fit for bronze.
So don't worry about your rank, just work on your basic RTS mechanics - get a build order down, practice macro vs the AI (just vs the very hard computer or whatever), and you should have no problem advancing. Remember to keep making workers and keep your money low!

If you're in gold 4v4 but bronze 1v1, you're likely to get out of bronze 1v1 soon.
