Hi, I'm new to Teamliquid but not to the blogging industry. I'm just going to reflect on this embarassing situation I had today during my drafting class.
I had just completed my final project for the class and decided to wander off to explosm and teamliquid for some funny pictures (let's face it, we all need some humor in our lives). I didn't notice anything particularly funny on teamliquid (because SFW funny pictures thread needs funnier pictures) so I went to explosm. There, I enjoyed a couple chuckles with my friend. Then my professor walks up to my computer and asks me, since I had finished my work, to give it up for this other student who needed it. I gladly responded 'yes' and proceeded to closing some web browsers. As I was closing them, I came upon this atrocious pop up from explosm. It had like girls in bikinis and butts.. UGHHHH. Now, I'm not your typical perverted male who looks at these things but this was in front of the professor! My face immediately turned cherry red and I was just impaled by that situation. However, I acted like nothing had happened, stood up and walked out the door, holding my head down in shame.
My life is now scarred. I don't know what to do; I don't know what is the proper protocol to execute in this situation; and I don't know whether this will affect my grade. Currently, I have an A+ in the class and I REALLY hope this doesn't lower it. I'm certain that many of you have had similar experiences and that same jolting feeling in your spine and there is no way in explaining myself to the professor now.
Also, do people really look at these things (you know, porn, hentai, etc)? The people who do, would you mind explaining why it is so desirable and how it has affected your life?

It pretty much just happens. Especially around humor sites(which are often humor/girls sites). I seriously doubt there will be any effect on your grade, or that he'll mention.
Lots and lots of people look at that stuff. Because they are horny/curious/bored. Don't be curious, don't start, and definitely do not get drawn in. It's a waste of time and does nothing good, with the potential to hurt future relationships. Keep your innocence.

It can have a neutral effect, just some time wasted, or it can have a bad effect. Either way it has no worth is my point.

Yeah, I agree with your argument and Elegance's. I suppose I do imply that I ignore their attractiveness, but the thing is I was in a professional environment. Surfing through teamliquid and explosm was very unprofessional of me so I guess I do have some growing up to do. I was just caught offguard by it.

Yeah no, as much as you would like to think so, professors generally don't give much shit to individual students, especially a miniscule event such as this, so again this is not something to worry about at all

Froadac ruined my streak so i never feel sure anymore.. This one was kind of a given though 
As for the topic - happened to me once (only with actual porn, in a window that the previous user of the computer had not closed) in home ec (we were supposed to go online for recipes or something?). Was embarrassing as f* - i couldn't really say anything or do anything to make it look better (much like detainees in Guantanamo - whatever you say will just make you seem more suspicious). Still got my A though.

I wouldn't give a damn about it if I were the professor. If you are in college, you get grade for academic performance, not your.... hobbies, if you will. Especially for a science course.
