More tracks being thrown at you. If you're a Devin Townsend fan the two new albums have been leaked. I won't be listening to them until I get the CDs but I can share links through PM if you can't find them if you promise that you'll buy them.
I've had three artists be my superstars this week.
I'd like to think most of you have heard this before as it was made by one of TL's own moderators: intrigue. He made a blog about the album. It's entirely free to download so it's worth trying if you like it. A bunch of the tracks are like Pom Pom and have a pretty melody with ambient or obscure backing tracks with range to just below dissonant. The opening track You are not alone is a really cool mix of guitar riff, electronica and ambience. I really enjoy it. Some of the tracks are just so pretty (Box Petals. I downloaded this album last year and listened to it a bit but this week I really got into it. If you like electronica with a bit of melody you should try it out. I really like it. Try the tracks I've bolded as well (there's no loss, they're short and all on that second link) and if you like it, tell your friends. I'm sure they won't mind so extra downloads.

I managed to find a copy of Future Blues with Ask DNA and Cowgirl ED tacked on as a second disc, so I had to get that. These three tracks are awesome. The first is such a fun contrast with the gunfire and the simple lift music. I've enjoyed listening to it quite a lot. The second track is just straightforward upbeat jazz and you can't really beat that. The final is a beautiful jazz ballad that I can't get enough of. Starting from about 1:00 that small buildup is just so mesmerising. Check these three tracks out. They're all pretty different. As for the album itself, it's quite varied genre wise. There's a few straight rock/pop songs and some world music tracks which I don't care for too much. The jazzy tracks are wonderful and a lot of the vocal trackss are super-catchy. I didn't really want to mention too many songs. What I did not expect from this album was Time To Know~Be Waltz which moves from smooth lounge jazz to a jazzy-hip-hop track in a super smooth transition. It surprised me a lot but I guess this is one of the first jazz-hop tracks to be recorded. At least it's the oldest I know. Really good track. I'll stop there though. If you haven't figured it out yet, go get any Seatbelts/Cowboy Bebop OSTs you can.
First off, this is not the catchy European Prog metal nor the tech-heavy US prog-metal. This is more like the Prog albums that black metal bands record. It's got a bit of a Black metal vibe with the atmosphere and some of the vocals but it's not black metal. Gonin-Ish are phenomenal. Hmm, what do I say next. Erm. Ok, let's just describe them. First of all, they have a brilliant (and unique) singer. She has some very quirky harsh vocals that remind me of some of Unexpect's vocals and a really wonderful clean voice. Her vocals impress me throughout the album and they really put this band above and beyond. The rest of the band create this huge dense atmosphere around strong riffs. It's not crazy technical but it's just this huge, heavy sound that builds up like few other bands do. It kinda reminds me of Green Carnation some times. Jinbaika's chorus has been stuck in my head for weeks and the final chorus with her layered voice has been giving me chills. Her voice throughout is so desperate at times and just beautiful the next. Muge No Hito I love for it's incredible build-ups throughout the song and an atmosphere so thick you could almost choke on it. I'm surprised this band are the premiere japanese metal band (now that I think about it, who is?) so I really want to see them do well. The whole album is full of tracks like these and I got it pretty cheap. If you're into any heavy prog bands, try it out.
My New Albums

Main text, go go!
Naishikyo-Sekai - Gonin-ish
Main text again. Just to re-iterate, if you're into prog metal, try this.
De La Persistance de la Mythologie Chottienne en ??? Vélos - Sebkha Chott
This one isn't that great. First of all, trying to rip it was a pain. The box says there are seven tracks bu there are actually 54. The first 48 tracks is one intro split into 5s sections which isn't even a song and the last track on the back doesn't exist. So after stitching the 48 tracks together and searching for the missing one I gave up and listened to it. It's a huge mish-mash of everything you've ever heard (except pop) but it's done in such a random way that it's not that good to listen to. There's one decent track which has a structure to it but the rest it just sorta flips between things. On previous albums the flipping was predictable and made sense, here it just seems to be done for the sake of it.
Albums Released This Week
Turtleneck and Chain - The Lonely Island
I'm excited for this. Every track I've heard so far is awesome. Been listening to Jack Sparrow a lot this week. I didn't link it because you'll probably end up hearing it somehow.
Last Paragraph
Just a shorter one this week because these albums have been mostly what I've been listening to. Most of the other albums are ones I've talked about before. I've been listening to that Nyan song a lot as well. Something about Vocaloid makes it spawn the catchiest songs ever. My current score for Vocaloid songs that I like too much rockets to... two. The other one is about milk.
