but to the topic: ye I hate when close family is being stupid and racist. when I was 7 or 8 my mom told me that I cant be friend with this Asian boy because they are wrong and want to take over our country and I should have white friends...

Before we are Hindus, Muslims, Christians or anything like that, before we are asian, afroamerican, white and all that - we are HUMANS.
People need to understand this and stop harming each other in the name of nonsense like e.g different appearance.
Having said that, I think there isn`t anything wrong with making racist jokes, as long as they aren`t a result of racist beliefs/opinions, aren`t judgemental, mocking or done with any ill intentions.
However, I believe that when one encounters manifestations of real racism, one needs to be forthcoming and direct without overcaring about consequences. Though, one shouldn`t blame racists for being racist, judge them for this or try to forcibly impose one`s own beliefs on a racist person, one should express one`s position and beliefs about it, strip the illusions of reason behind racism like one would strip bandages from a mummy and act whenever racism becomes an expression of injustice.

The funny thing is that the lowest scum of the earth I know is this white girl. She got pregnant at 17, married the father and then divorced him, doesn't work at all and lives off welfare and child support while living in a house owned by a friend. Her excuse for not working is that she has to take care of her kid but her kid is almost 5 years old now, the only job she's ever had is working at Wendy's. Everytime I see her I want to punch her in the face, it wouldn't be so bad if she didn't act like she is hot shit and deserves all she gets and more. I live in a predominantly black neighborhood and I've never encountered anyone who is as much of a leech on society as she is.

Wait what? Did you really ban people from your blog for disagreeing with you? I've read the whole post and there were none in there that were flames or direct insults. A few people said man up and get over it there is nothing you can do, which is a pretty reasonable opinion to hold, its pretty tough to change someone beliefs from 30+ years of reinforcement. I just can't fathom why you would have banned anyone.
As far as the original topic you said you have talked to your dad and he just makes racist counterarguments. Are his arguments actively supporting racist beliefs, or is he making those kind of jokes because he thinks they are funny?

Like people have been saying, it's counterproductive to try to fix someone's actions when he himself doesn't see what's wrong. The best option I can give you is this: accept your father for who he is whatever what he does (sounds corny I know, but he's still family). You have to understand that he grew up in a different generation, and he doesn't necessarily agree with today's standards. As far as the concern you have for his influence on you goes, I wouldn't worry a single bit. According to numerous number of studies, peers have a much stronger impact on your character than your family does.
But I wouldn't necessarily call your dad a racist. Maybe ignorant and lacking empathy.

Going to disagree completely, do do it, and no its not "disrespectful".
If your father can joke about (or legitimately assume) that arab people are going to be saddened by osamas death, and that you should provoke them, you can tell your dad to shut up, that is definitely an appropriate time.
I'd follow up with calling him a coward, and remark upon the fact that he would never tell those people in person what he just told you.

It depends on the relationship he has with his father, and there's a little bit of a culture difference with the relationship between Fathers and Sons in Malaysia and Canada.
Alternatively, Shut up can be replaced with Stop it/that, or the silence you mentioned

OP your dad sounds like a humorous guy moreso than a racist. My father loves to make terrible imitations of Dell technical support and it brings our family together for a great laugh at the dinner table sometimes. Why are you so serious about it? I think it is really funny. My dad used to be a communist (hmm... still is perhaps?) and wanted revolution. He also thought that all religious people are retarded. He clearly doesn't like arabs, somalis and romanians (he tells romanians to fuck off when they beg for money :D), but doesn't have problems with other people (such as asian people). I guess he has some personal issues with somalis since they almost literally took his job so i guess it makes sense to hate them (all though i don't know the full story behind this job taking thingy). I'm not making this shit up.
But seriously... you should respect your dads opinion and don't try to tell him what to think if doesn't really agree with your arguments (that's brainwashing).

Funny "racist" father times:
Alright so when I was in Grade 12 we had this grad dinner thing at a local town hall. Halfway through said dinner was a showpeice sort of thing, where members of my class would perform various things, one girl played piano, some hot chicks lip synched to some old song and a bunch of the hippies played some hippy music while dressed up in funky clothing. It was really just something to watch while conversing.
Now I lived in a very small, rural town and there is almost zero racial diversity here but the only black person in the school was dressed up as a tiger (?) and was playing some sort of bongo drums for the hippy band. As the hippies started to play their song I half heard my Dad say "There's a tiger on the drums!" (He was sitting pretty far from me - it was a big table.) I just stared at him bewildered and said "WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?" really loudly, stopping all conversation at our table of 10 or so people.
My Dad stared back at me with a half shameful half really confused look and I asked him again what said and he mumbled "... there's a tiger on the drums....?"
Of course then I realized how stupid I was and had a big "OHHHHHHHHH" moment and it took a couple of seconds for the rest of them to get it but when they did oh boy was the joke ever on me hahah and I have never felt stupider.
But later that night my parents won the raffle for the all expenses paid cruise so it all worked out.
tl;dr don't call your father racist unless you want them to win a cruise.

It's the racists who always try to blow everything off as a "joke" and let this type of shit slowly creep up in society. A lot of the people in here calling you emo, etc are exactly that type. They think as long as they're the first ones to start casting stones and telling others to chill that makes them right.
It's the same technique they used to use to oppress and silence women. Oh, why are you bitching so much? Why so sensitive? It's just a joke. It's just a little ass grab. Just a little comment about your clothes etc. Why so worked up?
