So as some may know, I go to a university (George Washington University) that is literally right next door to the White House, my dorm is about 3-3.5 blocks away. So when news came out around 10:30 PM or so, people started to walk over to the white house in droves.
I got there when there was less than a hundred people or so, there ended up being probably close to 8-10,000 people, so I'll post some pictures from my absolutely terrible cell phone camera.
Luckily my cell phone has a panorama feature, so click on the photo to view it full size, so you can see how ridiculous it was lol.

When I showed up there were like, 2 guards visible outside the white house but within the gates, by the time I left there had to have been 40-50 guards.
Originally DC Metropolitan Police showed up, making sure kids stayed off the trees and lamp posts but the more people that got there, the less power they had, there were police cars lined up all long the streets around the white house making sure cars couldn't drive by (they'd be stuck if they tried) and only foot traffic could make it in.

Uhhh...I don't even know its terrible lol, Its a Samsung phone with really no great features or interface, it was just a freebie with the contract I guess. The panorama feature is neat, but 3.2 megapizels with an awful picture quality isnt' 
Its actually really hard to see how deep the crowd goes back, to be fair it was actually hard to see in person since it was 1 AM and pretty dark out.
