The fact that it sounded similar to a Das Keyboard might be a result of the fact that they use the exact same switches. Your research on the Blackwidow being half as loud as the Das thus comes out as being complete bullshit. Regarding the 7g: "however on thing i really love aboout this keyboard is that you dont have to push the keys down very far for it to register." You don't have to push the buttons all the way down on the Blackwidow either. PS/2 adapter-wise I don't know about the Blackwidow, but the Das comes with one. I agree, the Blackwidow has a bunch of shit nobody needs but purely looking at the mechanical aspect, I consider it superior to the 7g. I base that solely on the fact that I prefer Cherry blue switches. And without any judgement: please, PLEASE read up on the meaning and usage of the words "there", "their" and "they're". And various other spelling issues. I appreciate the effort but I somehow felt compelled to criticize it. Don't take it personally, except for the parts where it's appropriate.

BlackWidow has double insulated keys that make it much more silent than normal blues mate. i had one, very enjoyable.

Also, if you are a person who fully depresses buttons like me the Steelseries keyboards sounds like a machine gun going off a la Geoff Incontrol Robinson. The blue switches on the blackwidow are much quieter in MY case compared to the Steelseries keyboard :p
