I'd start off by leveling to 16 before facing Brock, to ensure a win. I'd skip every trainer battle I could so I could then go and get the Magikarp and then do the trainer battles to help boost his xp as fast as possible. I wouldn't face Misty right away, what I would do is train until my Magikarp evolves before facing my rival in the next city. I would then go catch an abra, and evolve it. So my lineup for facing Misty was a Charmeleon in the mid to high 20's, a low 20's Gyrados, and a 20-ish Kadabra. I'd grab a Dugtrio in the next city, and then I've got myself a pretty potent lineup until I can start going after the birds, or some other big prize. It was always a big pain in the ass..... I'm in terrible shape until I get both the abra and the Magikarp to evolve..... But once it started paying off, I was fucking set! | ||
