[image loading] Anton ’Cooller’ Singov is a Quake Live legend. Not only is he famous for being a strategical mastermind and be superior in map control, he is also known for his comments and very honest behavior. Cooller is always walking around with a grin on his face after a win. Despite the honest behavior, he was the very first winner of the Intel Extreme Masters Fair Play Award for his sportsmanship.

I recall being at a Mexican restaurant, during our stay in Hannover for CeBIT 2011, with Cooller and the rest of mouz and SK-Gaming. As we started eating our appetizers, something came to Coollers mind. All of a sudden he seems very interested and from the corner, he says loudly “MorroW…” Everybody is looking at Cooller and being silent, awaiting his next move. After 12 seconds of awkward silence, MorroW nods his head and is like “Huh?” where Cooller responds with a grin on his face “I wanted your attention,” but as the conversation went on Cooller has played some StarCraft himself and was very interested in the Zerg race. He rambles on about his favorite players, strategies – which to be fair he has no clue of – and the game in general, but momentarily he says “..but I like making dogs, you know?” in a very heavy Russian accent. Everybody started laughing and looked at him “Dogs?” These so far unknown dogs turned out to be Zerglings. Besides this little anecdote, some of his famous quotes are: “Alltimes lucky,” “It’s not internet,” “Not my trouble” and “Relax.”

Another story some of you might already know is that after the Intel Extreme Masters EU Championship in Kiev, Live On Three with djWHEAT did a show with all the winners of IEM EU. First on was Cooller being the champion of the Quake Live tournament and djWHEAT was just talking non-stop about this, that and how great a victory it was and so forth, but sums it up with “so Cooller… There’s something I want to talk to you about,” and after another good 10 seconds of awkward silence, he replies “No,” in a very demanding tone “I want to talk this first.” Haha, somewhat bad mannered, but it’s Cooller and everybody knows him. I love it.

But the reason, I’m making this blog is that I want to share the new Quake Live movie that has been made about Cooller. It’s 8 minutes 16 seconds non-stop fragging and awesome moves. I hope you enjoy it.

mouz.Cooller Quake Live Movie anno 2010/2011
+ Show Spoiler +

And since this is a StarCraft community, I have asked Cooller a few questions about the game.

+ Show Spoiler +

Q: Hi Anton. Can you please introduce yourself to the Team Liquid and StarCraft community?
A: "My name is Anton Singov, but most of the people now me as Cooller and I live in Moscow, Russia.

I'm 24 years old and I'm playing videogames professionally since 2002 and I during my career I won multiple World Titles in different games. My games are Quake 3, Quake 4 and Quake Live and I'm proud to be a part of team mousesports since 2005."

Q: I know that you have been playing some StarCraft occassionally. Can you tell me a bit about your experience?
A: "Oh, yes. Many years ago I was a fan of StarCraft and I have been playing at BattleNet with Zergs. My favorite strategy was rushing with "dogs," I can't remember the right word of that unit. :D Also I liked to play with "Mutas" + "Hydras" and sometimes "Lurkers"."

Q: If you're familiar with the StarCraft 2 gaming community, can you tell us who your favorite player is and why?
A: "It's a difficult question for me to answer. Actually I know only European scene correctly and players who competed at IEM 2011 in Kiev, Ukraine. Generally I like players who are competing for many years and are "oldschool". Anyway my favorite players would be: MorroW, Happy, Moon, Ace, White-Ra and DIMAGA."

Q: Last words. What would you like to say the StarCraft 2 people out there?
A: "I am happy that the StarCraft 2 community is so friendly and during my last events (GamesCom, IEM Kiev, CeBIT) I saw how many fans gathered around the stage to watch StarCraft 2. It's a pleasure to watch the game and to meet the players, because they are all very kind persons. I am looking forward to meet some more players at future events and maybe even meet them on the Quake Live servers from time to time, just like MaNa or HasuObs from mousesports."

Talk about having baller fan-art?

Cooller is Cooller, there is no doubt he is one of the most popular gamers ever. It was epic to see him finally win at IEM Kiev.

Cool to know he plays SC2 too ^^

Yeah, Lenny Kravitz is very nice. It's a pretty good live cover by him and Clapton to be fair.

" “..but I like making dogs, you know?” in a very heavy Russian accent. Everybody started laughing and looked at him “Dogs?” These so far unknown dogs turned out to be Zerglings"

This part had me laughing out loud.

Great video also, that is something that was always so good about the quake 3 community, the awesome frag movies.

And cooller is just a baller, he is like the white-ra of quake, he has been around forever, has always been at the top, and even if he doesn't get to practice as much due to irl constraints, he is still at the top.
And due to the language barrier, there are always some funny moments popping up.
(the point they are different on is white-ra being very manner)

Cooller is like the White-Ra of the Quake world... The guy's been around since the beginning of time smashing face and he even apparently has a hilarious european accent.

And let me tell you, Cooller's special tactics are quite strong

There was a game against av3k I watched where on one map av3k went down a few frags and then complained about his bad spawn position. Cooller gave him a regame, which he really didn't have to do (and lost the regame). That really impressed me back then.

I assume he knows zerglings as "собачки" - literally dogs or dogies. Quite common to call them as such in Russian.

Gotta love that |] at the end of the movie.

One of the older maps (that I don't think they use anymore) - dm6 (campgrounds) - has some pretty disadvantageous positions that if you spawn in will leave your opponent with an opportunity to get a lot of momentum early on and when you're going up against someone like cooller or av3k it might be too much to handle.

if it was on dm6 i can understand why they'd agree to regame... that map BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWS (haters gonna hate)

I don't know the old maps, but that sounds a bit like dm13 - lost world? I mean.. It's pretty tough to make a comeback there, especially without the rail.

I'll be honest, I'm not a huge fan of Cooller's style but I'm still super excited you introduced him to TL, and that was a great frag video.

I don't know, but this looks nothing like Quake Live. Is this some sort of graphics mod? And one thing I've always been wondering was how the commentators could tell if a rail hit. I personally can't tell the difference. Anyways, Cooller is a beast. You should totally watch this video of Rapha vs Cooller if you haven't already:

It is Quake Live. Graphics mod? No, just low picmip. Also the Quake Live banners has been modified to mousesports logo's.

Regame map was furious heights (qztourney7?). As far as I can remember they started playing and after not much had happened something crashed or someone dropped so they had to restart, then av3k got a horrible spawn and the game went to 6 or 7 to 0 in a minute or two and he gg'd (with some whining afaik), cooller then offered another regame which he lost.

Pretty sure that game is the main reason for the fair play award.

And it was all going so well...... if you are going to listen to All along the watchtower, there are only two versions you should ever consider.... the original and the Hendrix version.

On topic, Cooller is a boss.

But beware of you go there, esreality doesn't exactly have the highest level of posting, trolling/etc is a bit rampart there.

Or atleast it was years ago when I frequently visited it (maybe theyre moderaters are more strict now)

You go to esreality for training on how to properly read forums. It's kind of like the old D2 trade channels that way. That said, Quake players are picky so the best mice information comes out of esreality, scattered around in bits and pieces.

I remember at IEM V before a game they asked him who would win. He answered:

"That question is not correct"

Like a Boss.

But in my opinion DaHang has the best frag movie ever, EG's Quake dueler.

Much Love to Quake Live!! Been in love with this game forever. Dont play regularly no more, but i regularly watch that stuff and i still feel it

The only downside of my Quake Era is the fact that i detest every fps-shooter which was released since quake 1 and is not from ID

Ah shit ...if anyone cares....the goodl ol´ times of Quake 3 ....these videos get to me every time i watch´em........

My 4 favorite Quakemovies of alltime.....I will never forget this stuff!

and an old one but RA3 was my thing...Lofwyr was my Quake Hero

And a fantastic Freestyle Trickmovie....wonderfully produced!
http://www.own3d.tv/video/20393/reacH_the_m0oo0N_-_Q3_Freestyle_Trickmovie/?HD

and i wanted to say thanks to the links for the tournament matches...watched them all.
