EPTTo me, everything started on December, when a friend told me he was playing this game. I decided to give it a try and played against the computer, until I could win sometimes. Then he invited me play to his place and I had my first game against a human. He completely destroyed me. He'd been playing for a while and was clearly better than me. I wanted to defeat him the next time.
Then I found liquipedia, and started reading the terran strategies which lead me to find some progaming vods, so I watched them. I didn't understand them at first, but when I started practicing I realized how hard it was to do what I saw in the videos, and I was amazed. I kept reading strategies and when I found one that I liked I practiced it against the computer. Finally, two weeks after my loss, it was time for a rematch. My opening was 2 fact vults, and from there I played in one base with 2 factories for tanks and 1 starport for dropships. I won!
After that I joined this forum and I've been here for a while. It was here where I read about a really hard server, where everybody played in so I decided to join ICCup, only a month after playing for the first time. Until date, I've only been able to win one game 1v1, so I dropped to E really fast and recently I clearstatsed so people would not lol at me before banning me. I have improved a lot since my game vs my friend, and yet I'm really bad. I forget to macro while in battle, while harrasing, while teching... many times I find myself doing nothing! One game I tried to 5rax a D level toss, and I lost 6 marines to 1 zealot. When retreated from the battle with my remaining two marines I realized that I had lost all of my SCVs to the harrasing probe xD
Just a few days ago I found myself awake at 4 in the morning, watching Flash reverse-allkill FOX on a stream. That's when I realized: I FUCKING LOVE STARCRAAAAAFT!!!!
Anyway... My classes start in 6 days, and I don't want to play during this period, because I'm afraid that this new passion might destroy me! It's just that I know myself really well. Maybe once a week. Or twice. xD
