Lessons learned:
1. Hellions can be great for harassment, but you gotta make sure there’s something to harass, especially against Protoss. Ziggy’s early hellion push ends up unfruitful because he can’t get into my base and I don’t have an expansion to harass. When Ziggy realizes this, his hellions basically become useless since I’m Protoss and don’t have the weak units against which hellions are so effective.
2. Don’t be too aggressive with your build. Ziggy makes the same mistake I made a few episodes ago and goes for two fast factories. With a hellion-focused build, that’s not as bad as my tank-heavy strategy when I tried the same thing, but then you gotta go back and build another barracks for more bio units. Instead, Ziggy goes 1 rax, 2 factories, 2 starports, which is more than one base can support and lacks ability to produce enough of the fundamental units of a solid Terran army. As a result, when his hellions are taken out, he has almost nothing to fight back with when I show up at his base.
3. Going along with #2, you always need multiple barracks as Terran. Personally, I tend to keep a minimum of three. Even if I go for a fast factory, I’ll go back and build two more barracks. I don’t know that this is the best benchmark count, but find what works for you.
