I was doing a programming test tonight and the song "All the things she said" by Tatu came on and this is all I could think of:

The assignment involves a portion of code written by the teacher and specific functions and lines that are necessary for us to fill in to get the program to run. Many times i find myself frustrated because his code makes no sense.

"All The Things I Code"

All the things I code
All the things I code
Running through my head
Running through my head
Running through my head
(Running through my head)

All the things I code
All the things I code
Running through my head
Running through my head
(Running through my head)
This is not my code

I'm in serious shit, I feel totally lost
If I'm asking for help it's only because
Reading you has destroyed my mind
Could I ever believe such a stupid error?

I keep asking myself, wondering how
I keep closing my eyes but I can't comment you out
Wanna fly to a place where there’s my code and me
Nobody else’s code so I can code free
Nobody else’s code so I can code free

All the things I code
All the things I code
Running through my head
Running through my head
Running through my head
(Running through my head)
All the things I code
All the things I code
Running through my head
Running through my head
All the things I code
All the things I code
(All the things she said)
This is not my code
This is not my code
All the things I code
All the things I code

And I'm all mixed up, feeling cornered and rushed
They say it's my fault but I write so much
Wanna program away where the 1’s and 0’s
Stream past my face, wash away all the bugs
When they stop and stare - don't worry about me
'Cause my feeling for programming is better than his,
I can try to pretend, I can try to stop
But it's driving me mad, going out of my head

All the things I code
All the things I code
Running through my head
Running through my head
Running through my head
All the things I code
All the things I code
Running through my head
Running through my head
All the things I code
All the things I code
This is not my code
This is not my code
All the things I code
All the things I code
All the things I code
All the things I code
All the things I code
All the things I code
All the things I code
All the things I code, I code
All the things I code
All the things I code

Teacher looking at me
Tell me what do you see?
Yes, I've lost my mind

Friend looking at me
Will I ever be free?
Have I crossed the line?

All the things I code
All the things I code
Running through my head
Running through my head
Running through my head
All the things I code
All the things I code
Running through my head
Running through my head
All the things I code
All the things I code
This is not my code
This is not my code
All the things I code
All the things I code
All the things I code
All the things I code
All the things I code
All the things I code

you should not write out the refrain all the time, makes it really hard to read..

While I (rudimentarily) understand the code above, it can't match mah L33t TI-84 BASIC:

:Lbl 1
:Disp "All the things
:Disp "I code
:Disp "
Goto 1

or

:While 1
:Disp "All the things
:Disp "I code
:Disp "
:End

If people want, I can write a program to spell out all the letters at random locations on the 16x8 calculator screen :D

supposedly using namespace std; is bad or something.

I use it because i can....

But today i had to program blackjack and nested while loops were making my brain hurt.

also if you want to be super cute you can use \n instead of endl

Actually good point; should've used \n because you ended with quotes, it would've been better style. Also, using using namespace std; is preferred because when you use using namespace std;, you import all the names like cout and endl. This takes unnecessary time and space; it's unnecessary since you rarely need all of it.
While this may not matter with just one file since these days, computers are fast enough; alot of programs contain many files and if each of them have using namespace std;, it gets laggy.
Also, when you use using namespace std;, there will be alot of variable names that become unavailable. such as "count".
Finally, and most largely, you have to use the resolution scope operator (: when you decide to make your own class or add to a standard class. for example, you want to make your own string class.

class string {
...
}

Later when you declare a string variable with

string myString;

If you have used using namespace std; at the top, it will most likely cause a compiler error because the program does not know which string you are talking about. In general, using the resolution scope operator is alot safer.

If you must be lazy , A better way to use using namespace std is to just do things like

using std::cout;
using std::endl;

this solves all the problems above and all you have to do is add the line at the top and you can use it as a shortcut.

Or you could just continue using namespace std and not choose extremely generic class or variable names lol.
