I think I hit a wall with zerg.
I'm currently highish diamond, regularly playing with rank 1-3 diamonds and occasional masters.
I'm losing so many games just by falling dead to a weird/strong build I've never seen before, or didn't scout properly. It's soooooo frustrating, even more when I rewatch the replay and see that the opponent is terrible.
Getting to this point in the game, I've always subscribed to the "just focus on your macro, and you'll get into diamond" Now that's done, what should I focus on now? Of course my mechanics and macro is nowhere near perfect, and I'll continue working on it, but it feels like macro alone doesn't cut it anymore.
tl;dr Got to diamond using macro. Now dying to the many may different openings P and T have. Any opinions on what to work on now, or even better, how to prevent tilting when losing to a worse player who just has a funky opening?

They're better than you if you lost to them. Don't delude yourself into thinking otherwise. Play better, scout smarter, and stop going the same build over and over again, when it's been proven to be weak against these different builds.

Use banelings to break down the wall. ^^

When I hit a wall with Zerg at 2400 Diamond about 1-2 months ago, I started to play T and P in custom games. Playing other races really show you some of the limitations of different builds and some of ways to exploit early 1 base play. For example, playing Terran showed me that even when Terran can make a CC after some type of 1 base aggression (Hellions/Banshees/etc), they are still very much behind if you can hold off the harrassment. Terran has to be defensively for at least 1-2 more minutes after the expo, giving you a window to power drone or Tech.
At the moment, I think I'm mid diamond with T and P with several consistent builds and my Zerg has gotten better to get into 2750 Masters.

That's a great idea. thanks!

it's the wrong idea to look at a replay and say wow they suck you should be looking at your own play and seeing where you failed

How many games did you play?

I definitely do not watch replays with the mindset of "hey that guy must suck". It's sometimes just really frustrating.
I have just over 200 games. I'm thinking what I might need now is just to grind out games, and experience, rage at and learn all the different builds that can be thrown at me.

Scouting - sack overlords, poke lings up his ramp, keep your scout alive as long as possible then hopefully you can work out what he's up to. Blind macro will only get you so far.

Best thing I can think of is to watch MrBitter's stream - excellent Zerg advice from all the pros

seriously dude. 200 games. thats like a week for a lot of commited gamers. 200 games alone doesn't really mean anything. you need to just play a lot more. zerg is all scouting. if you're losing to random bullshit (happens to the best zergs) you need to get better at scouting, and reacting to the shit you see. good luck!

Yeah, you're going to lose to a lot of weird builds when you only have 200 games down. You need a lot more experience and a good memory to play a good zerg.

Kinda good to know that I just need to play more games. I don't want to be one of those with thousands of games, but are stuck in bronze -_-
Thanks guys! Gonna grind now!

yeah, i swear, how the FUCK does one have 2000 games and still in bronze? mental handicap. even in broodwar, a 1000 games+ access to teamliquid at LEAST D+ (which is mid masters in sc2)
