Typically, I've been an A student my entire life. I just got 4 C's, 1st semester senior year, for final grades in my AP classes.
When I realized I screwed up big time, I didn't really care. I knew I was getting burned, but I just didn't care.
I stopped going after girls cause I just don't care. I stopped studying and turning in my homework cause I don't care. I stopped playing all my video games cause I just don't care. The only thing I do all day is sleep, eat, and shit. That's it (oh and facebook + TL.net).
The first thought that hit me is, "will colleges deny me from going to their school?" I know for a fact that privates care about senior grades. I'm not so sure about the UC system though...can anyone help me with this?
The second thought that hit me is, "how the hell am I gonna cure my senioritis?" I don't know what motivates me anymore, cause I just want this year to be over. How did you guys get over senioritis?
Oh and as a closing note, my dad is probably gonna rip my head off for my grades (he's azn).

as long as you have a 2400 sat score and 4.5 gpa u should be fine bro...

Well, if your dad's asskicking doesn't remotivate you, then almost failing out your first semester of freshman year will knock you into gear. if that doesn't work, you're screwed honestly.

I got a 0% my last grading period in physics my senior year of high school. I went on and graduated college and got a job. Embrace the senoritis ...

Senior grades do still matter. It is even possible for a UC to void your admission after accepting you already. This usually only happens if you bombed your grades big time. I highly recommend you pick it up for your second semester, so that this does not happen to you.
You may be feeling tired and apathetic at this time, but consider the fact that a little time and effort now can save you an incredible amount of pain in the future.

The UC system doesn't consider your first semester senior grades when making your admissions decision, but if they admit you, you need to maintain a 3.0 gpa; otherwise, you can have your admission rescinded. I'm pretty sure a couple of the UCs say 3.0 weighted, but for Cal, it was unweighted so it's not going to be the same for all UCs. Depending on which schools you are looking at, a quick google search should bring it up.

I think senioritis happens just because you get so sick of being in high school, and you want to finally experience new things. Once you actually get to college, you'll probably be back on top of things because it's not "I just want to get out of here" but more like "I just got here and don't want to mess things up from the start". Just remember to manage your time and not go too crazy partying and you'll be fine

From what i heard if you get an D or lower at all you're screwed and they will deny your admission. That's what happened to my friend's SDSU application and heard stories that they do care about your final semester's grades and stuff at UC schools too and have denied people.

I fucked off grade 9/10 but started working really hard in 11/12 but overall I was only able to bring my average high school GPA to like 3.2
I had gotten a 5 on AP Chemistry/Biology and a 4 on AP Physics though, and was immediately accepted into a University.
It just depends on how expensive of a uni you want to go to...

I'm in the same position sigh well as long as you dont get a d or lower within the uc system you should be fine. Some colleges do look at your senior year but people are chosen randomly so hope you're not one of around 1000 or so haha now me on the other hand sighh sucks being asian huh?

I don't know what kind of University you go to, but most of them don't even care about your AP exams. It's just a little bonus that can get you out of college classes if you do well on them. Also, AP exams are in May, which is already way after you've already been accepted to any colleges, unless you're taking them as a Junior. But again, I don't think they care what you got on the exam.

I don't bother chasing them as in gf status because for
1. I rarely get out of the house
2. I don't have a car
3. I don't live in town so I need a ride to get to anyone else's house.
4. My parents don't let me stay after school to hang out
5. There's only about 1200 kids at my school, which means about 600 girls, about 300 of em are trashy/butt ugly, another 150 are taken, and the last 150 i don't have a chance with anyways. Best wait til college where I live close to everyone, where i probably will have a car, and where there will be a lot more girls than just 150 to choose from.

I have senioritis too and I am almost in the same situation as you. I have 3 Cs i think and currently have like a 3.2 GPA for my senior year. I'm not studying or doing any homework or projects that are due for my classes. I should be doing an essay right now but o well. It's reassuring to know that my college freshmen friends did worst. I think once I get to college, I'll go back to my old habits.
Get a girl, hang out with friends. Senior year has been going pretty fast for me

For Cal and UCLA you need to maintain a 3.0 unweighted GPA in your senior year. For other UCs it's 3.0 weighted.

Dude, I'm going through the exact same thing you are right now. Though I've never heard of acceptances being taken back from Cs (4 Cs is certainly a lot though...) I have heard of Ds. One of my friends got owned by Johns Hopkins (D in English = Community College).

No you don't, shut up, you're just lazy. Not trying to judge, hell, I was lazy too, but I called it lazyness. I didn't make up some BS about having senioritis when I'm not even halfway through high school. Once you've gotten into colleges and stuff, and get into the last semester of high school, it's totally different.

I don't typically give guys advice about women but that's a terrible attitude to have if you want to come off as attractive. You can't think "I don't have a chance with anyways" because that immediately shows that you don't have confidence.
A man goes after what he wants. Period. End of story. If you want a girl, go after her, there's no "I'm not hot/rich/cool/whatever enough for her." That's all bullshit, and you'll realize that once you get out of high school.

Yea I realize come off as lacking self-confidence, but I think i've looked at every single girl on campus twice over -- none of them are for me.

Shit man...good luck on your end. It's 4 C's out of 7 classes with four APs. I haven't done jack in any of my classes, so i kinda deserve what i got...i just wish i tried a little harder cause all of the C's are C+'s T_T

i think i have some form of it... got 1 C/ 4 Bs / 1A without the AP points ... after the points are added in and my parents see the transcript, it looks more like 4A's 2 B's

i got accepted to a public university even with bad senior grades lol
i think i had something like, 1 D, 3 C's, 1 B and 1 A by the end, I was pretty worried because of that D and a lot of C's, but nothing ever happened.
