AS you know, a lot of gaming and Starcraft nerds are Asian. But this may be a disadvantage in America. For example, girls really don't find Asians that attractive. Just to give some info, I am in 7th grade and I a semi-nerd. I like math , chess, and gaming. And while some of my friends, aren't into girls, I totally am. (but with homework, math and games, I don't have too much time)
When do you think the starting age for dating is? A lot of popular kids at my school started dating in 6th grade. And so far, the people in the Asian group have not started dating yet. Do you have any advice/tips for me?

Well, when I was in grade 7, there were a lot of people dating. I was interested in boys, but no dating so much. I guess it's sorta the same, even after 9 years. ^^;

It's not your friends decision when you start dating, but yours. (:

If you find a girl you like, and she likes you, and you feel comfortable and ready to date her, ask her.

I didn't start dating till I was about 15 though, just because I was comfortable or really ready for it, haha. .__.
you are perfect porcelain.

you need to figure out why you want to start dating...

just want to get laid or take care of BBS (blue balls syndrome)? well, then have fun, take girls out and make sure they're having fun, and then have even more fun. don't try too hard... when the house is empty and parents are gone, do your thing.

looking for a serious relationship? well, you're in 7th grade, don't look for a serious relationship. lol

Don't start dating just because you want to start dating. Doesn't work that way until you're 25 and depressed.
If you see a girl you like, talk to her. In 7th grade everything will be very light and you will be "playing" dating more than actually doing so.
When you get a bit older, stop with the dating stuff and try to score chicks at parties etc. A relationship isn't bad per see but make sure it's serious beforehand.

Don't worry about it too much, you don't just begin dating out of nowhere. Just go with the flow, it's not like you can take out an ad in the local newspaper.

To be honest it is so diffrent from person to person. Personally I didn't really get anything out of a relationship untill I hit 19, I had girlfriends before that but that was mostly just to have a girlfriend, because that's what the cool kids do.

There is no stress what so ever some people don't start dating untill they are well into their 20's and are fine with that, while some start at 13 and stick with it for the rest of their lives.

Start dating when you find someone you actually want to date, and actually wants to date you, regardless of age.

Get dating ASAP . You get: fun & learning experience...as long as you don't get too neurotic and always take a step back and remember everyone is young and no-one expects to spend the rest of their life with you...

Also, even if you do get a little fucked up, it's all part of the learning experience so it's a good thing to do it when you are young. I just repeat, don't get neurotic

Don't worry about it and enjoy yourself. Relationships/"relationships" don't mean shit at that age anyway. If you're feelin' it then go for it

well, lol you need to learn how to read girls. if you wanna BBS rush, find a party with a bunch of alcohol, the girls there will...well, i dno that's borderline unethical/illegal.

start talking to girls and just have fun. take it slow if you haven't experimented. chances are the girl you're with will want to experiment too since they gossip like crazy and her friends probably talk about what they've done.

also, don't let the search for a perfect BBS rush build order screw over your grades and stuff. try to have a balance. after school activities are a good way to interact with other people, especially girls.

I would say, slightly before you feel completely ready.

There's no point doing it before, as you won't be emotionally prepared and it will probably just end up weird and uncomfortable, ruining your perspective on dating (not that drastic).

However, don't wait "until you are ready," because that day may never come, and you don't want to realize that until it's too late.

I would say start dating when A) you have the opportunity (duh) and B) when you can do it without asking your parents to drive you somewhere.

that's just me though, and I am considered by no one to be an authority on dating.

Just do it when you're ready! Dating is fun, and you should never think too much about what kind of guy girls like. Just play to your strengths and be a cool guy.

I'm one of the nerdiest dudes you'll ever meet and I have a hot girlfriend whom I love very much. How? Patience and being a generally nice guy.

All of your concerns about being Asian or semi-nerdy will go away once you get older. In middle-school, girls all have this pre-conceived idea of what the "ideal" man is. The handsome/popular/tall/athletic/rich whatever guy that you always see on TV and in disney movies.

It's still pretty bad in high-school, but there will be a lot more girls who understand what they actually want in a guy. You'd be surprised at how many dorky girls there actually are ^^

Basically, just wait it out. If you start dating in middle-school just because you think you should be dating, you're going to be unhappy a lot because you (most likely) won't be bonding well with girls who don't understand how relationships actually work.

Have fun and don't take it too seriously. Also, at your age the best looking girls get the least attention, so go for it.

Don't worry about dating, just go out and have fun with the girls if you have got the time. There is no pressure. About what you said about Asians not being as attractive, I myself am Asian and I do not feel that way. I don't know where you are from but where I am there are a lot of Asians and I have seen many white girls have yellow fever and it goes the other way as well. Don't worry about what they think about your race, it's the image you project is what matters.

Girls aren't into Asian guys? Sure, some girls aren't. Personally I've never been particularly attracted to Asian men, but I had numerous friends (white) in middle/highschool who were exclusively into Asian, (particularly Japanese for some reason) guys. Everyone's got different preferences.

Don't let fear of some imagined discrimination get you down!

I think I was in.... 7th grade when I went on my first date. Obviously it's all really silly/goofy at your age, as neither of you can drive, and getting dropped off by mom or dad at the movie theater is kinda funny in retrospect at my age now, lolol.
I admire your commitment to being *very* oily

grade 7 honestly it's not gonna matter much, good to give it a go and get some confidence I suppose.

also fyi being into math, chess and gaming makes you more than just a "semi-nerd"... imho.
