Just try and ladder for like 1 hour a day, if you don't have school or work, just wake up take a shower play until you get bored or frustrated.

Umm, if you don't have motivation to play now, why would you need to push yourself to it?

Yeah. If you no longer find laddering fun or rewarding, then there is no need to force yourself to play. There are many other things you can do. Learn a language etc.

If it's not interesting you at all, then I don't know what to say. I have barely laddered myself until recently, trying to make a dent in my 1.8k bonus pool. If you don't want to mass ladder against randoms you could always ask around in the Teamliquid and reddit channels for games.
|
Hey, I feel ya. My bonus pool is over 2000 (just 7000 more) and I haven't laddered for 5 months. I still play with friends (every friday) but those games never got me motivated to ladder really. Do something worthwhile then. Learn a language like he said^. But, if you want to shave off that bonus pool and all, play :D

The dedication Starcraft players have always amazed me. Wanting to play when they don't find it fun or aren't motivated about it anymore. Most people would just quit the game or not play and find something else to do.
Only thing you can do if you hope to ladder is ladder.....

Well I want to play and it is fun but I find it frustrating to play with the mmr my account has when my practice level is low and Im not playing up to my mmr rating or my potential. Its that furstrating fact that has kept me from laddering really :S

Are you still in school/college? I'd say make the most of that, I wish I could stop playing starcraft and just get distinctions. Seems like I'm settling with pass/merit.
I'm 23 and had 6 years after not making the most of education. How I wish I made the most of the resources and malleability of my brain.
Because also one thing that might be sucking the fun out of it is that maybe you're not improving, try to think harder about your mistakes, watch your replays and dedicate a good hour or two to play it BUT only when you feel like it. If you keep trying to play it when you don't enjoy it you could possibly end all enjoyment of the game for you. Sometimes us foreigners just need a break.
Best of luck =]

It's a game.
You shouldn't have to find motivation to play it. If it's fun, waste some time on it. If it's not fun, do something else.
