So, Im thinking of making a map(Or a mod) with, well, imbalances.

Not map imbalances, oh no. Unit imbalances. I'm going to go around, and pick out my favorite fake changes in peoples "My Dream Patch" patchnotes, and add them in...and hopefully the result will be a map with all 3 races being equally overpowered.

But I was wondering if I could have some input?(Wasn't sure this would be alright to put into the Map making forums). What map should I put it on, that would be balanced? If I put it on a ICCup map would I need permission(I've never used anyone elses work...regardless I'd give credit where it's due)?

Also, post some changes you would like to see! They can be anything the would be relatively reasonable(No making Ultras take only Spawning Pool, and 5 minerals X_x)

So let me get this straight: Your goal is to make all units wildly imbalanced enough that all races are equally imbalanced? How can 3 things all be "equally overpowered"? Am I reading this right?

Hydras riding on roaches, when they both are attacking at the same time and going as fast as speedlings is somewhat balanced by carriers shooting out void rays.

edit: siege tanks that can patrol micro while sieged like vultures could in bw and that shoot psi storms

Because the word imbalanced is mis-used really badly.

For example, this chess position is a position from the english attack against the najdorf:

White typically castles queenside and attacks the black king on the king side and black castles kingside and attacks the white king on the queen's side. Black's attack tends to be piece focused and white's attack tends to be pawn focused. These are all imbalances in the position, but the imbalances mostly cancel each other out and the player who best exploits the imbalances that favor him and negates the imbalances against him will have a better chance of winning the game.

What about how everyone says banshees are flying dts with cloak? why not actual flying dts with cloak? The first melee air unit, haha. And what about phoenixes with mass graviton beam?

Thors need cliffwalk abillity and huge defensive shields

Zerg burrow should upgrade every zerg unit to burrow+move

make infested terran suicide bomber like in bw

Broodlords and ultralisk needs the transport abillity where every other unit can sit on their back and will be protected by the HP of the main unit

Still working on the size, and changing the name and such, but yeah. It will also do 10 damage(5+5)..since you know, full thor damage is a bit too much.

Reapers/Colossus can now walk over impassable terrain again.
Double overlord/overseer sight range.
Double overlord/overseer move speed (base and upgraded)
Can upgrade to orbital commands and planetary fortresses as well.
Can use orbital command upgrades while flying.
All terran buildings can lift up now. (excluding refineries)
All zerg buildings can uproot now. (excluding extractors)
Protoss can warp in to anywhere they have vision.
Stalkers get charge.
Zealots get blink.
Double hydralisk movement speed.
Double zerg creep movement bonus.
Workers can stack 3 to a mineral patch at a time.
All mineral patches bring back 7 minerals now.
Hatchery build time reduced.
Tank range increased.
Colossus range upgrade removed, range improved to 10.
Queens can fly now, but still move the same speed.
Hatcheries can produce queens twice as fast (reactor)
Tech reactor.
You can stack cannons on buildings now.

Also, make everything slightly more realistic, ie: everything is relative in size (BC >>>>>>> CC), tanks can shoot anywhere there's vision, lasers have infinite range (again, vision thing). Bring back lockdown and dark swarm.

And why not have Refineries liftable and Extractors uprootable? Empty Geyser? Move!

Give units with lots of kills buffs, after all, they clearly know what they are doing.

Give SCVs afterburners.

Bring back Phase Cannons. Also, give every Protoss building the Phase ability.

Yes. Put the Rank of each unit to good use!

also:

-Nukes can be called down at any point with vision (seriously, wtfalready??? Everything else is more technologically advanced, but really, no missiles? WE'VE HAD CRUISE MISSILES SINCE WWII!!)
- Nukes can be shot down (or early detonated :D)

I've done this before.
Just keep buffing random things.
Here's some ideas:

- chronoboost can target units (50% speed up)
- no mothership limit
- terran gets units/upgrades from campaign (including scvless gyser)
- merc compound available
- overlords drop a creep tumor when they die
- some units can be upgraded to have lower collision radius (closer units = better dps)
