WooHoo! I got her brand new from one of the members at figure.fm. She ordered two of them by mistake. The internet is a dangerous place! This is Azusa Nakano, better known as Azu-nyan. She completes my collection of Nendoroid type K-On! figures. I also have the full K-On! set in Figma already. So, it's on to the next figure type series for K-On! Now, I wonder what that could be? | ||

There are now soooo many Nendo's that I want that I cannot get afford them all! LOL Plus, moving will be a problem in September. The friend I was going to leave my stuff with is also going home after her contract expires.  Looking forward to see your new Nendo's. A friend of mine posted a blog entry asking for input on running a Japanese figures panel in anime convention. Things like what topics you'd be interested on, panel format, visual aids, etc. This being the figure maniacs thread, I think your input would be useful. As for visual aids - well examples of a range of figures would be a nice start (scale, nendoroid, gashapons, related items like plushes.) Also maybe an informative, visually appealing PPT (even just some kind of artistic background if a projector and computers aren't available.) Anything to stimulate people's senses. Other topics which would interest me personally would be; ~ Studies of the different demographics of figure collectors, their personal motivations, and why figure collecting holds such an appeal to certain people. ~ How figures are designed and made. Things like Mikatan's factory tour posts would be great to give people an insight into how figures are produced. ~ Ways in which the figure maniacing community can expand and attract new buyers/fans. If it's an anime con then it's more likely to be popular if he focuses on the relationship between currently popular series/characters and their figure-based merchandise. It needs to be accessible without being patronizing, and to offer something to both newbies and veteran collectors. Also if there's time/a budget then maybe some kind of in-built competition would be nice. Especially, if it required a level of creativity such as people designing their own figures or coming up with a name for an existing figure. | ||
