EPTSo, to start it off, it was all a pretty chill tournament, the guys all had fun playing and it was the first time I didn't end up running it (A LAN center that actually runs their tournaments *thumbs up*). There was a pretty good turn out with the computers set up all in a row. The whole thing started off with out any real problems. A mouse wasn't working for one of the players but it was fixed pretty fast. The real excitement happened about half way through though, when the Ranger group ended up leaving during the tournament. The three Rangers left to get some food and went way over time. GreenRanger was in the winner’s bracket at the time and was suppose to go up against RyanNova. Ducky Ranger was to go up against LazyMacro in the loser’s bracket. There was about a 15 minute discussion about having the players forfeiting the match since CCG was leaving it up to RyanNova and LazyMacro. RyanNova took the forfeit since GreenRanger would just go to the loser's bracket for 2nd/3rd place. LazyMacro decided to try his luck against DuckyRanger.
LazyMacro came in 4th place with a 2-0 win. It was a great PvZ and no one saw it coming. I asked LazyMacro about why he felt he won. He said, "I probably psyched him out by accident. I don't normally play so aggressive right at the start of the game but our first match I did. Also, I played a quick match with RyanNova while we were waiting for them to come back. It probably helped a lot." LazyMacro's next match was against Ajtls. The two players decided to make the game a little more intresting though. They both made a side bet, who ever took their *sun*glasses off during the match first had to buyt he other a mountain dew. In the pvt match up, Ajtls won, 2-0. Neither took their sun glasses off.

Moving on with the tournament, Ajtls then came in 3rd after almost a 1 and a half hour tvt against GreenRanger. Their first match GreenRanger took, it lasted about 30-40 minutes, the second match Ajtls took in about 20, and then the third match was almost 45 minutes. When I asked about what happened with Ajtls, he said "It was about mid game where I unseiged all my tanks at the same time in stead of separately. I think that's where I lost it." When the players took a break from the long match, it was time for the finals. RyanNova had to go up against the very same person who he dodged last time. The two players decided to make it a bo5 match up. RyanNova won the tournament, 3-1. It was a great match up and an exciting game.
After everything was said and done, the players all got together and shook hands.

RyanNova invited the Rangers to go for some pizza with LazyMacro, Damncats, and myself but they refused with the long trip they had to start. The tournament went great and CCG is an awesome host. The next big New England Tournament is the NESC2League Qualifiers at Galaxy Gaming in Dover on 1.22.11. Hope to see all of you there and to have my "news story" up faster. As always, GL&HF!
