You underestimate how few people there actually were in the B and high levels on iCCup...

QXC is B level in iccup so there's a lot of QXC's? more like C- and D+ high in master league. I have to admit i don't care about master's league but definitely I'm still more in to improving than being ranked in some league. Also, quite funny that some of the stagnant diamond players are back and playing lol

I know I was able to go from D to D+ with only a couple dozen games while in SC2 it took me hundreds of games to get into diamond and hundereds more and I'm nowhere near masters. There is millions of people actively playing sc2 and only around 10 000 masters. Was the percent of people who were actively playing bw and were above C+ less than .5%?

also in general: for people not getting into masters: if you generally for, say, every set of 20 games, go 10-10, it's likely you're not improving. blizzard's point system is designed such that anybody who masses games enough can be at the top of their division, but the visible points aren't especially related to skill. if you really want to improve, hunker down with some decent practice partners (optimally above your level) and work at working out the kinks in your game, smoothing out your build orders, and improving mechanics. that's the best surefire way to improve, imo.

I always did a 2 hatch muta regardless of if they were terran or protoss and if it was zerg I'd try to end it right before the muta came up because my antiscourge micro was crappy. I played against my friends a lot but had very little iccup experience but I know I was crappy and am certain I am much MUCH better at starcraft 2.

I know for a fact I was never anywhere near B level on iCCup, maybe C if I played a lot, but I never got enough games in to even get to D+ (Like maybe 6 to 10 games a season lol) but in SC2 I was in diamond in less than 30 games and when masters started I was in it in 2 games. So if I can get it I feel it's safe to say masters league is for anybody who could get at least C- on iCCup.

I was D+ in ICCUP and somehow i'm stuck in Silver in SC2 lol count yourself lucky you got in masters!
|
Clearly you have a good shot at being the next GSL winner.
|
Same I was D+/C- Zerg but when i played Terran i got into silver. zzz, however when i played Zerg again it felt soo natural...
|
Yeah I feel the same as you. 3700 C- high zerg on ICCUP (season 12 I think) and even though I think I'm a terrible terrible noob, I easily reached high diamond and will almost definitely get instantly promoted to masters when I get the chance to play again (haven't played since a week before 1.2 release).

I bet you half the the top200 list wouldn't make it past B- on iccup today, look at amazing players like CombatEX, Piqliq, Katari, the entire GMMA clan "dominating" ladder, but they would never win a starcraft tournament against real pros like Nony or Ret. Just about everyone thinks that blizz ladder is a joke, partly because of maps and partly because its a cheese/allinfest at ALL levels. Not the same game. Not the same system. You can't make loose comparisons. Please stop.

Can you people please take iCCup vs Bnet2.0 somewhere else? Seriously guys, you ruined this bragblog.

The OP brought it up dude.

I actually intended it to mostly be about Bnet 2.0 and the evolving game so ICCUP fit in pretty nicely. The whole idea is that being in masters is not brag worthy and I feel disappointed about that. When I became C-, I was incredibly proud.
