So I took a hiatus from SC2 for about 2 months. The game is great, but sometimes you just need a break, you know? Anyways, after spending countless hours yelling at 12 year old campers on CoD xbox live and farming just about every piece of Embersilk Cloth I could get my greedy tailoring hands on in Cataclysm, I decided to come back to the motherland that is SC2.
How things have changed with this game! I played about 3 games and lost all 3 times in a row (even the games where I'm slightly favored). I felt so ashamed. I decided to hop on to TL.net to read up the latest strategies and get back in the grove of watching Day[9] archive videos again.
After picking up a few build orders as Protoss and watching a couple Funday Mondays (more for a good pick me up than actual learning), I felt ready to get back into the fight. I played 3 more games, and again lost every one of them.
Maybe I should go back to yelling at 12 year olds on xbox live. *sigh*

Just play whatever you feel like whenever you feel like it.

Yeah, that's been my problem lately; swap from one game to the next. It kind of sucks because I can't seem to mange to tie myself down to any one game long enough to become semi decent at it. I'm only a Platinum player in SC2 as it is.
Anyways, I've been on a SC2 kick lately, so I'll probably just ride that out for a while. Hopefully I can get back into the swing of winning a few games without having to rely on my opponent messing up and botching something.

Starcaft is a serious business, it shall not be taken lightly. If you "go away" from starcraft for even a week you can see that your skills decrease dramaticly. Serious business gaiz.

Play some practice games first. I took about three months off when i was ~700 diamond, and when I came back and tried to ladder it was putting me up against people who were like 2200, I definitely couldn't hang. Just play a ton of custom games vs randoms (a lot of whom are also semi high level players coming back from a hiatus) and get your legs back under you, then youll be fine.

Ya, I know how you feel OP. Really, don't be discouraged though. Warming up in team games actually can be fun to get into. The thing with Starcraft 2 is that the everytime you try to come back after a long break, you don't get the luxury of playing with lower skilled players to warm you up with compared to games such as an FPS. So then you must simulate the warming up on lower skilled players by playing team games!
