After the first week's block post, I didn't really have to look for songs. They found me. Each time I heard one of these songs, I wanted to share it with everyone. There is a lot of dubstep type stuff, but also a healthy dose of electronica ambient type music as well.

Here in no particular order are some amazing song's i've come across. Most of these songs I havn't heard from day9, unlike last weeks. Either way, enjoy.

(the first post will feature 10 songs total. all song set may vary, but ill try and keep it at about at least 5 songs)

Dubstep, Space, Drum & Bass
1. Delta Heavy - Space Time

Space Time has an awesome mix of an amazing backing melody, and surreal sonic beats, of heavy bass and pads. This is one of those songs that gets better the louder you play it.

Electro Swing, Swing, House
2. Parov Stelar - Libella Swing

Libella Swing is the craziest song i've heard, and one of the weirdest genres. I originally got this from someone who played it on qxc's stream, but reports have been that idra plays this a lot. Its classy like no other song out there, and has a funky beat to it.

Dubstep, Rave, Techno
3. The Bloody Beetroots ft. Steve Aoki - Warp 1.9

Warp 1.9 has one of the weirdest music videos, and possibly one of the most awesome beats. I got turned on to the Bloody Beetroots by their last remix of toxic avenger, and this song does not disappoint my taste for them. I will try my hardest to keep repetitive artists out of the mix, but since the toxic avenger originally made the last one, i think this can count.

4.Feed Me - Blood Red

Blood Red was given to me by sob3k here on TL.net. He recently turned me on to Feed Me's new album, which turned out to be absolutely amazing. Hats off to you, good sir, for some amazing dubstep.

5. Jon Hopkins - Vessel

Vessel combines a lot of different genre's, and many different instruments. This is another song that sob3k turned me on to. The texture is rather unique, because it goes a lot of places. I really the dubstep in it represents revenge, and the classical part of it, sorrow. A rather unusual piece, but none the less, awesome.

6. Vector Lovers - Tokyo Glitterati

Tokyo G, I don't know why it sounds so good. Perhaps its the constant chord progression in the background, contrasted with the light chorus on the foreground, or perhaps its because of the feeling on being at peace that I get while listening to it.

7. Ulrich Schnauss - Monday-Paracetamol

Monday-Paracetamol isn't so much ambient as it likes to feel. You actually notice a lot about the song when your listening. Perhaps because its so good, that you can't not focus on the waves of sound. Its almost like the ocean laping at the sand, in its sonic qualities.

8. Claude VonStroke - Eastern Market

Eastern Market, takes off and introduces it self as ambient. Its one of those songs that is in the background to a fast motion picture, featuring people going about their days, while they are watched by a camera up above. If I were to title its sound, it would be "A day in the life of a city."

9. Orbital - Pants

Pants feels the most like its from a mass effect game. From some sort of semi-high action, ending sequence, or even the beginning of a mystery.

10. Bluefish - Mellow Mellow

Mellow Mellow does exactly what the title says. Imagine flying through the clouds, then discovering something life changing.

Honorable Mention

I don't think a single song on here was from day9 this time. Anyways, enjoy these tunes. I look forward to discovering more. Also, if you have something that hasn't been mentioned, then feel free to pm it to me, and I'll have a listen. I am trying to find a lot more awesome songs, so my collection doesn't stagnate. I still have a ton more saved up though, so don't worry.

really really nice taste man. i dont like bloody beetroots/steve aoki that much, but the rest are awesome choices :D

Thanks for the compliments. I actually ment to add another one as an honorable mention, but I'll do that now.

Honorable Mention

I actually had a couple of other songs in place of the bloody beat roots and the last one that I wanted to add, but sadly, there weren't on youtube (or anywhere actually).

Ill be uploading those to youtube and add them to next week's mix.

hahah you should learn what electronic genres are actually real before you go around calling something "rave" (is not a genre )and everything dubstep.

song 1, definitely dubstep, pretty cool.

song 2, i'm sure you've also heard:

. right?

song 3 is house. Electro house, or whatever, it's for sure house. not dubstep, and "rave" is barely a genre. also techno does not apply here.

song 4, not drums and bass. this is drums and bass:

5; just because it has a half time beat and deep bass, does not make it dubstep... This is ambient with a hint of IDM (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intelligent_dance_music)

6; haha somehow you missed calling 5 idm, and incorrectly call 6 idm. I would also say electro funk does not describe it either, this is part of that weird in between genre i've found that isn't quite house techno or anything else... just electronic. So i'll agree with electronica.

7; i want to bring up the point that something doesn't have to be classified as "electronic" just because it uses a drum machine . Things can be ambient without and influence from what modern "electronic music" is. Just call it ambient and be done.

8 i agree with.

9; this is a genre called TRANCE music.

10; i can also agree with.

As I said with the first blog post, I am entirely new to the whole eletronic music scene. So far, I've only been going by wikipedia, and listing what I think it sounds like. For a lot of the music, I just list similar styles, denoted by name, that appear as genres that the artists writes for. Also, i've always tried to find 3 general genre's that i hear during the song, or that make the song sound the way it does.

for sure, sorry if i came off a little mean, i was just trying to help clarify things.

but don't try and find 3 genres... if something is just dubstep then there's no need to classify it as something else also.... Even if a style is similar, that doesn't mean its correct to call a particular song that... I would try to stay away from all inclusive genre naming.

also yeah... "Indeed, many consider New Rave to be defined more by the image and aesthetic of its bands and supporters, than by the somewhat vague sonic criteria" And i'm familiar with the klaxons an looking at the other sample bands, i don't think they are very close to the ones you designated "rave"

Thank you much for the guide. Ill be sure to check that over in the coming days. Also, im very very very glad that I havn't added anything from Amon Tobin yet, cause he is awesome and I found a song (i've heard so many of his songs that are so good) that is awesome and funky.

I was going to add in People Like Frank last blog, but i figurued, i had enough day9 stuff on there already. However, i do believe i will add that or a couple of his other songs that i've like on pandora.

edit: im not sure why that guy called it "definitely dubstep" it has lots of d&b influences.
