At 9 pm today, I swear I remember telling myself that I need to turn on the fan cause its so damn hot in my room (no, its not cause I lost 4 ladder games in a row and my blood is boiling from the rage) and during the later hours (3 am- 4 am) it gets really cold.
I've heard from somewhere that your body temperature drops during these hours, but why at this time? Scientific reasons I bet.
I know this might sound silly, just hold your breath for a second here, but it might be ghosts. Yes lol. I'm not very superstitious person but someone once told me that 3 am is the time when spirits / ghosts emerge into the living world. Maybe...if we're a little crazy enough to believe...maybe we're so cold during this time of the day because spirits are around us and "chill" us with their presence that we cannot see. That's just my crazy theory anyway. Feel free to laugh at me

ROFL! I don't know about that, man, there's some pretty good science behind why your body gets colder at night. You reminded me of a time from grade 8, a girl once told me a ghost passed through me when I shivered.
However, I'm not gonna go hating on ghosts, they could be watching GSL with me.
EDIT: Put on a sweater, I'm feeling nice and warm right now.

Sun isn't out at 9 pm either

I don't know, but try killing a couple of ghosts to gets things hot again.

residual heat? things soak up the energy from the sun and have to cool down at night when the air temperature reduces? so it ends up maintaining temperature? or something? i'm just guessing here
|
I don't remember much about body temperature and it's relation to sleep but I'd imagine that during rest it does drop a little. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
I can say more confidently that the period before the Sun rises at dawn is the coldest time of day because the Earth has lost most of it's absorbed energy from when the Sun was last up giving off radiation. This may account for why you feel colder at around those times--maybe it just is actually colder internally and externally!?
|
Depends on the heat capacity of the surroundings. On planets like Mercury, where there's little water or atmosphere, the temperatures go to extremes (enough to cook you during the day to below freezing at night). If you live in a place that's not close a large body of water, changes in season (and during the day) can be pretty sudden and intense.
Also, on a very micro-scale, most of your heat-generating appliances such as lightbulbs, computers, and TVs are turned off during nighttime.
Back when I had my computer in another room and left it on overnight, there would be a very noticeable difference in the temperature of that room and the room I slept in.

Um it's already been explained more or less but the reason why it's colder than 3am than 9pm despite being dark at both times is because it takes a while after the sun goes down for the environment to cool off. It is more or less fully explained by science without the need for ghosts in the theory.

Thats also why the temperature drops so rapidly when snow is covering the ground. The majority of heat in an environment comes from the sun heating the ground, then the ground releasing that energy.
That and ghosts.

You don't need all this stupid science if you explain it with ghosts either. Ghosts did it. Case closed.

Just train an observer and then pick off the ghosts with your HTs feedback.
Unless you're a zerg scumbag.
Then you're gonna stay cold.

as a physics major i fully endorse ghosts

I think it's a body thing, since even when I sleep somewhere with a regulated temperature, I feel colder when I wake up than I did going to bed.
Anyways, what makes you think ghosts are only around when you sleep at night? They're all around you right now o_O watching you read this.

Please forward your excessive ghosts to hot and poor countries.

everyone knows science is not real but only an illusionary concept taught by society to surpress our psychic powers innate in human beings
|

You see? There is no reason to have any faith in humanity. Science and technology is currently and will be ruling the world. However, too many don't know shit about it. This language of science isn't getting easier to understand if you stay ignorant and this train of technology isn't moving any slower in 10 years from now. This train won't stop departing, but I'll advise you to take the first one you can catch.
btw, this is not specific to this blog.

You trolling skills are at like lvl 1 currently, I recommend you grind some starter areas such as the Youtube comments section and avoid TL until you are of appropriate competence.

If it gets too cold, I think you need to call the Ghostbusters.

To actually answer your question it has to do with the sleep cycle or circadian rhythm: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_cycle I don't personally know that much about it so I can't explain it, but the body gets coldest at around 4 am not because of outside reasons but internal ones.
|
You should stay away from all electronics at 3 am too, because those ghosts could use EMP.
I suggest getting a pet bird, like a raven, which has the ability to detect those pesky ghosts. That should help.

I dunno! The ghost comment caught me by surprise and had me laughing pretty hard.

3 AM is the time when demons enter this world, not ghosts. Presence of ghosts makes the temperature drop, but they are present also during day so it doesn't really explain anything ;D

For anyone here who has a gf or has ever slept in the same bed as a girl you'd know how freakin cold they get.
I went on a date with some 25 year old British girl, clearly no sense of humour. I told her the reason for that was because woman are cold blooded creatures, much like alligators, or a lizard.
Could hear a pin drop, I thought it was funny. *Shrug*.

nice nice nice OP. just when i thought there was someone who shared my views that its getting colder already this time of the year! nice
AND epic LOL at the ghost comment! GG man!

I've got a related question: Why do I hear sounds more clearly at night? (at least it feels that way; PS: I'm not on heroine;) )

There are far less distractions that goes into your head at night than during day, because majority of people sleep. Considering every possible wave or distraction source, not only noise you can hear. I think (not scientifically backed) that your system is more dull over hectic day, just as a natural defense to all the distractions.

Related to LastWish's question.
Why is it that i only hear ghosts during the night (Serious question, I hear wierd cracking noises only at night. And always at the same time stamp.

People suggesting to get a gf clearly haven't felt the icy sting of girls' feet. I don't know how they get so cold but it's actually amazing how uncomfortable it is.

...Did somebody call for an exterminator??/

Get a GF without legs.
Problem solved.

Lol, the obvious reason why its colder at 4am than at 9pm is because the sun has not been heating up your surroundings as recently (your food doesn't turn cold the second its taken out of the oven, it takes time to cool down).
That being said, yes your body does cool down at night time by a degree or 2, this is due to the slowing of your metabolism during these hours to facilitate sleep.

You are right however i always managed to have colder feet or hands than my girlfriends. So it is comfortable for me, but not for the girl...I am probably the most cold blooded person i know or whatever infuencing cold feet/hands. I guess i just have too many ghosts in my appartment ^^

Depending where you live, if it's summer at this time and not winter, sun stays out longer, is closer to the sun, and would leave the earth warmer for longer, since the sun is shining on it longer. It gets so cold at those times because the earth obviously rotates, so it's at the farthest point from the sun ~_~! At that time on the otherside, it's at the closest point. Right? ?_?
As for getting a girlfriend, I prefer to be cold at night so I can warm up when I sleep B) But as soon as i'm asleep i'm like, 100% warm and like a heater! 8D!
