I don't think you can argue that the amount of hype caused by the fact that the winner will be the best of the absolutely best will be worth the slight risk that top 4 or top 8 players are a little less connected or known to the community

From the TSL 2 nongmin participation announcement thread:
One of the TSL's major goals has been to promote and enhance the non-professional or "foreigner" scene.

Times have changed drastically but I think the same applies today. Would the scene benefit more if there was no Koreans participating in TSL3? I'm sure the answer is no.

Only thing I'm kinda concerned about this time is if the koreans bring the allins(a la GSL) with them.
Otherwise and nonetheless this is going to be the greatest tournament ever.

This thread is silly. There are foreigner tournaments going on without korean representation ALL THE TIME.

forgottendreams: One underage girl, two drunk guys, one gogo dancer and starcraft 2. Apparently just another day in Europe.

ehhh, Koreans are in top in SC2 but many people can debate whether or not they are the best of the best of the best just from a stereotypical view point. i mean we have seen time and time and again that Koreans are invincible forces of destruction that lay nothing but wastes in their path, just look at Dreamhack. and Jinro a non-korean made it to the final four in GSL 3. that has to say something.

its pretty ignorant to say "well i guess we might as well give it to the koreans" because the skill cap for the best players on NA and EU is close to korea as well, with maybe a few exceptions such as MC and MVP
if it wasnt for mules terrans would have to 15 hatch every game.

that's not even how it works in the GSL where less than 1% of the participants are foreigners, so how are you going to assume something like this? are you just scared that koreans are gonna come in and just whoop everyone's ass?

why they would invite koreans to play in teamliquid starleague I don't know... It's kind of strange.

TSL was always defined as being an event for foreigners, especially considering most foreigners don't have access to playing in the GSL. GSL doesn't just invite foreigners who cant logistically play in their qualifiers, why should we invite koreans to play in our tournament?

Well yeah 1/3 of the players are koreans, and I kind of agree with you that there are too much koreans in there, still you should get a few in there 4-6 rather than 10-13.
And yeah its kind boring to say: "ahh another finals with koreans only" every one month in the GSL.
Conclusion:
Have less koreans
With an average game length of 7m36s over his 6 games in GSL3, this is a no-brainer. BitByBit pulls more SCVs than yo momma at a club on Mar Sara. ♞

You see this was all part of the plan. Blizzard realised the foreigners could compete with Koreans enough to where the TSL would be both foreign and korean. They increased latency from that of beta to give foreigners a fighting chance. GENIUS!

I just don't like how koreans don't have to go through any sort of qualifier process. And I do like the idea of having some koreans, but having nearly half of the tournament be made of koreans that don't have to do anything special to qualify seems silly for me

yeah if half of those are liquid guys and the other half are like GSL winners and Boxer or something that'd be pretty intense.

I find it kind of funny that the last TSL will help players get placement in this one, since they are different games. Sigh, TL.

Having a good mix of koreans will really help us understand how far of a gap exists between foreign and korean players.

Latency/Lag issues will still be a problem though. MC got demolished by TOP - late forcefields and uncharacteristic voidray control were no doubt a part of that (seeing as they form pretty much the basis of MC's play). I'm not saying TOP wouldn't be able to beat MC... but 4-0?

This is going to be nothing like Kaspersky. Everyone is going to be practicing their balls off for this tournament, it's going to be competitive trust me. I don't think this game has as big a gap as BW, I definitely think foreigners will be there at the end. I'm rooting for a Liquid`Tyler repeat. I hope he reaches the finals, officially changes his name back to NonY right before the match, and then wins an epic 4-3 against a Korean.
Do an arranged marriage if she's not completely minging, and don't worry about dancing, get a go-kart, cheers.
