i think having that many koreans legitimizes the tournament even more so if you win you can say you played against the best and won, not against the best foreigners and won.

Well the tourny is truely gonna be the best players since Koreans are playing, but I guess it might be kinda sad to see Korean finals (which I think will happen).

lol they will have 13 koreans so it will be more than idra and TL guys i just think its little bit stupid, they have their 11 GSL tournaments in a year or something like that, let us have our 1 tournament :S i mean 3-4 koreans are kinda cool i guess, but 13? :S i bet 1/2/3 places will be koreans :S

You can make the thread in the TSL3 forum.........If you want my opinion all foreigners will gain the drive to work harder because otherwise they'll get owned very hard.

I think they pretty much had to open it to Koreans.

With BW you had the excuse that most non-Koreans did not grow up somewhere with a pro-scene so it would be boring to spectators if those (relatively) trash players had to face Koreans that were far better but no one had ever heard of.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, look at what the restrictions for entering the last TSL were and remember they were engineered to avoid the masses of amateur/retired but incredibly strong Koreans.

But SC2 is a new game and professional SC2 is still in its infancy so it wouldn't make sense to define a similar set of restrictions and make a "foreigner only" tournament.
No I'm never serious.

You're looking at kaspersky cup and totally ignoring that other tourny at the same time with dimaga in the finals vs fruidealer, and tons of foreigners in general?

And so be it. I'd rather see the very best players win regardless of nationality. Why do you think foreigners need a bone thrown to them? We've already seen that the very best can compete with the Koreans.

I imagine in the future, if possible, they will have Korean server TL opens to decide who from that region gets a shot at qualifying.

Foreigners can and will do fine even with korean participation, just look at nony/nama and fenix at dreamhack, jinro and idra at GSL.

I'm not really worried to be honest, they're still a minority compared to the amount of foreigners, its not like in the GSL where its the opposite.

I'm confident we'll have atleast 1 foreigner in the finals.

I'm not saying foreigners and Koreans are equally skilled (not saying they aren't either). I mean it's hard to set rules defining on what it means to be a foreigner, especially now that there are so many foreigners in SK and you have Idra who's been there from before SC2 until now.

It would be even worse to base it on ethnicity since that is hard to check and unfairly excludes Koreans who have never even been to Korea. Or similar cases.

That was never the case. If a person is living outside of Korea even if he is Korean is a "foreigner"

Then watch any one of the multitude of foreign tournaments and you'll get your wish. How often do you get a truly international tournament? I think that's something pretty special

I'm more curious about how the lag/latency issue will be resolved with the Koreans.
