i wake up in the morning to my parents fighting. apparently they don't even have enough self control to avoid their fights over stupid shit on christmas morning.
i get up and my dad is gone. he comes back later so my mom leaves. then a while later they are both in the house so fighting ensues again.
my mom is kinda crazy. super crazy. anyone who has read my other blog[ http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=131664 ] about it would know the way she behaves.
anyways things really blew up today. i think they might get separated (finally!). but if they do that'll be complicated regarding finances and living arrangements.
anyways i don't know what the deal with opening presents will be. luckily i don't care too much.
but great christmas huh? my sister is lucky she's in thailand working

Really sorry to hear that man, I truly hope things pick up for you. Maybe you can relate to this.
|
Damn that's shitty but it might be for the best. Separated marriage is better than super-volatile-clusterfuck marriage. Good luck man.
|
Sorry to hear about that Travis. My mom is nuts too so I can definitely relate to you, sucks it had to happen on Christmas gl
|
I'm sorry for you :'( I really do hope it works out all right, man.
If it's worth anything, I'm having my worst Christmas ever, too. It's nothing as bad as what you must be going through, though, so at least your post inspired me to pick my shit up and stop bitching.
Merry Christmas, all the same >\\\<

That sux and Im sorry four you. I have almost same situation in my own house so i know how it feels. Just dont get hit by all that too much or get depressed. Be strong my man.

I just had my first "double christmas", I got a good chuckle out of that .

Really sorry to read. Unfortunately holidays sometimes bring out the worst in people, leading to horrible fights. Hope it somehow works out okay eventually.

Aw that's gotta suck so bad, sorry man. Can't even imagine. But hey I like how louis ck put it, divorce is ALWAYS good, because no GOOD marriage has ever ended in divorce (sounds alittle counter-intuitive I know but it makes sense if you think about it). :D
|
feel bad for you man.
better luck next year
|
Not to detract from your situation but I spent my entire Christmas Eve evening waiting for a tow truck to come and haul away my car which died near the busiest/largest/most popular mall around. Repairs will cost over a grand, so will junk/salvage it as its not worth it.
I am currently spending all christmas looking for used cars to buy so I can make it to work once January rolls around.
So yea, here's to crappy christmas situations and hopefully a better one next year

|
My house almost caught on fire today. What is it with the crappy Christmases this year?
|

A lot of people on TL have parental issues. YPang for one, whatever happened to him... he hasn't posted since August. Not even a goodbye
We're here for you. And to varying degrees, a lot of us know what it's like.
|
Just enlisted huh? Now you can spend Christmas away from the fighting in Iraq, like me :D
|
my parents split up (a.k.a. the mother left) when i was like 12, after being married from age 16 to like 42
5 years later, she is back living with my dad and they love each other greatly again and have been together for around 2.5 years, unmarried, and they enjoy it a lot.
crazy stuff :/

So my friend's Mum died today.
I think you could change your blog title.

I remember my worst christmas was during uni. In a flat alone, no tv, no internet and no money for more food or a train ticket home for a week. I had enough for a coach home but wasn't allowed to reserve a seat.
2 coachs came a day each at 6am and 12-1pm. Each was full by the time they came into town. The coach stataion was an hour walk away in the ice and snow lugging my old style suitcase of clothes. 2 days trying before christmas eve and they stopped completely for 2 days.
I had to use most of my money to pay the meter for gas and electricity. I ate value bread and butter with a single leaf of lettuce per sandwich with water. No money left after that other then for bread.
I sat in my room and used some electricity to watch Casablanca on my pc. Other then that I just tried to sleep and not get completely depressed.
As I didn't have any money now and gas & electricity going to run out I finally built up the courage to phone my brother to come drive me home(a 10 hour round trip costing about £100 in petrol). Even with his own money problems he found a way to get enough to pay for petrol there and back.
Since then I finally learnt the worth of a £ especially when I was counting pennies to pay for value bread.

it's called dramatic effect u don't need to 1 up me there's lots of ppl in the world i knew it isn't literally the worst christmas ever

Sorry about XMAS! So much build up for one day... It really puts alot of stress on people.
|
I had to have christmas without my parents because my mom got appendicitis and my dad rushed her to a doctor. I was sick, but I still enjoyed it to a limited degree (extended family FTW). I think your christmas is worse though
|
Just keep your chin up man, I think one of the greatest things to learn in a situation like this is how you don't want to act when you have kids. You can always learn, even from some of the worst situations you get in. Sorry about the crummy christmas, but look on the bright side, at least you have a house and food to eat, not a huge upside, but it could always be worse.

I think you could change your blog title. lol yeah, lemme quickly time travel to Dark Ages and drag up a random peasant.

aren't you a poker player ? can't you live on your own?! but at least you're shipping out and won't have to deal with annoying family situations anymore ;;
|
i used to be a poker player
it's not that easy to just up and make a big bankroll out of thin air
and a big bankroll is what u need to have a big enough winrate to live off of
that or grind sngs for 60 hours a week which is something i definitely don't want to do
|
Travis, what part of the states are you from?
|

|
Man travis... you're so positive in all your post and I never thought you got parental issues like this one. Anyway I hope this doesn't affect you too much man. My parents were already separated when I was 4 so i never experience anything like this. So who you going to live with? mom or dad?
|
hah same here man. I have this every Christmas. I love how they say that its not about gifts but being with your family and be happy and than they fight xD the best thing is when they start giving you advices about relationships and life :D i just cant stop laughing... I get used to it after 5 years. im sorry that you have same bullshit home :/

They..................Bangkok! ahahahahahaokay shutting up. :|
If it's worth anything, Travis, whenever I see a post of yours I'm 99% of the time behind it! :D Weird, but I seem to completely agree with you on almost everything. It's also amazing how ignorant viewpoints held by people can be (not necessarily their fault on a personal level if they just didn't encounter that sort of information I suppose).

Should replace it with a Samsung. I've had great luck with them. I hope you're not an apple fanboy =/
