Woke up at like 11am and had to meet cArn at 1pm in Balsan so we could go to Superdanielman's pc bang for practice. So I get up, take a shower ect. But there's no bread left so I find some pastry at a nearby family mart that tastes bad and head on to meet cArn.
Get to the station on time and cArn shows up as I'm eating my pastry and the plan for recording the first video of the day "a video guide to getting to Sante PC" starts. But stops shortly as my camcorder battery goes out (think I need to charge it overnight), so no videos today.
So we head along to Sante PC to get in 3-4 hours practice before we go to GSL. We get there, say hello to SDM and start laddering. I do badly, making a bunch of mechanical mistakes but improve slightly and move up through plat some more. Since I'm cursed and every computer I use at Sante PC locks up after 40-50 minutes while playing SC2, I decided taking a small break to eat some noodles and watch cArn play would be a good idea. I really like watching cArn play, he's better than me, will explain what he's doing and gives me pointers on what I can do to improve. Although he struggles in TvZ which I personally find strange, but whatever.
So after some more losing due to dumb mistakes/lockups and winning due to not forgetting my second gas, we head to GSL (by this point, I'd written off my day as sucky). We get some pizza because there's an awesome pizza place near the gomtv studio, buy some drinks and head onto the studio.
We arrive at the studio's building and I procede to be puzzled by the amount of middle aged white guys there (I've been going every day and rarely see anyone I'd consider "old"). I then remember that there is some blizzard people in Korea so figured they must be blizzard employees. We get some seats and then are joined by Eugene(sp?) and Lewis. At this point, there's a lot of people there, including the front row filled with Blizzard employees.
We talk for a while and I notice that Eugene has an awesome Nestea sign and say "I wish I'd done a 'LAN mode please' sign". So Eugene being the baller he is, turns his sign over and writes it down. Now, as awesome as this is, I'm afraid the large row of blizzard employees might not take this so well and we'd get kicked out. But it turned out ok, some people laughed and the blizzard people didn't seem to mind.
So Nestea kicks arse in a close series and we got to take a small jab at the lack of LAN, let the good times roll. Thinking about the success of my sign idea (mad props to Eugene), I said to Lewis during the last game that I'm gonna go buy some fruit for Fruitdealer's games. So Lewis, the awesome guy that he is goes "If you get some, I'll chip in", follwed by, "I'll come help you get some". So after Nestea finished, we ran to the nearby fruitshop, letting Tasteless know of our plans on the way. We get 30,000 won worth of bananas and oranges and get back in time to have only missed some of game 1.
After we got back, we asked Junkka if it was ok to hand out the fruit, which he ok'd and tasteless tried to tell me something with improvised sign language which I didn't really understand. So we left our fruit with Junkka and went back to our seats. After Rain won, Tasteless and Junkka asked for some fruit and gave us the ok to start handing it out. He also mentioned he'd put some in Fruitdealer's booth, which made me smile. By this point, I was having such a good time, I'd forgotten about my crappy breakfast and getting hammered on the ladder.
My original thoughts with handing out fruit was that people would wait until the camera had panned over with people waving fruit in the air before they'd start eating, but they just ate it all straight away. I was ok with this however, since they all smiled and thanked me for the fruit. When the camera came back on, me and Lewis raised the second bunch of bananas above our heads (and a couple more for banana grins) and Eugene held up with sign with an apple drawing on it.
There was much cheering as fruit dealer won and afterwards the TSL coach came up and thanked me for bringing fruit and asked if he could have a banana. Shaking his hand made me feel pretty awesome and we asked if we could get a photo with Fruitdealer after his interview which he seemed happy about. So me, Lewis and Eugene went and got our photo taken with Fruitdealer and the bananas by some journalists. Fruitdealer and me exchanged thank yous and we went back to catch HongunPrime beat the crap out of TheBestfOu.
Man, I love the GSL.
