Since a lot of people here know a lot about proteams or have organized teams in the past, how should I go about hosting a ranking tournament?
How do ranking tournaments usually work?

Or do you mean that you're having a tournament where you will get seeded for future tournaments. The second option... people want to know where they are in terms of skill level, and I want to know because I'm not going to give board positions to people who do not know how to play at all.

EDIT: You could also do a king of the hill thing. Sort of like... Let's say. You have 8 people in your club. That means there's the D Players, C Players, B, A. So on. So all of you will play games, and if you win, you move up a spot, if you lose, you move down a spot. You can play like, 6 games. Then wherever you are on the hill, or ladder or whatever, that is your ranking.
