Hey guys,
Long story short, reading http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=165043 had me almost in tears when I saw Rayman. That game WAS my childhood, my parents bought it for me as a birthday present, and they even found the cheat codes for me when they realized that it kept kicking my ass.
I can still remember them. trj8p, kom0ogdk, goldfist..*shivers*
I, however, have a problem. My school has nefariously blocked torrents, and a google search for "Rayman Original XP" instantly leads me to one that looks viable. (Not going to link because of TL policy).
If anyone could find the .iso, through either that link or some other private/whatever site, and upload it to mediafire/rapidshare/megaupload/anything but torrent so I can download it and relive my youth, I would greatly, greatly appreciate it.
ps, I just ordered Rayman 2 for N64 from eBay. Soooo pumped.
Thanks in advance guys, and I hope that, even if you can't help, this thread reminds at least one other person about the god that is Rayman.

I'm not going to pirate a game and then illegally upload it for you with Canadian internet. That's asking too much. Perhaps some nice Scandinavian will help you out. Good luck on your quest.
|
Fair enough :p I'm just hoping there's some alternative to torrents that I haven't found yet, or, like you said, some nice Viking does me a favor.
|
This was the 2nd game I got really into (first was the original Sonic for Sega Genesis).

|
You, sir, are a fucking hero.
|
This game was absolutely amazing. I would waste so much time playing this. T_T I don't really remember much anymore, but I do remember that Saxaphone boss lol
|
I don't remember much except that it was unexpectedly difficult, at least for my childhood self. But then I never had luxury of playing platformers in my childhood- even Mario! I don't think I ever cleared any platformer ever, actually.

Rayman 1 >>>>>>>> Rayman 2
2D > 3D, hand drawn sprites are way more beautiful than low-res polygons.
Rayman 1 was amazing but i have always felt that it was quite hard. Maybe i'm just bad idk. Couldn't finish the game.
edit: well Rayman 2 wasn't that bad. Actually it was decent. I guess i was just getting older and playing on console with all the camera angle problems was somewhat annoying.

no, I´m a viking

I'd forgotten how hard this game is <3

There are a reasonable number of emulation sites that will let you download the ROM without torrenting. You can get the emulators this way too. Should work if you don't mind playing console versions.
|
I got the same feeling as you a few months ago and downloaded it. I'll try to upload it. I got 2 versions : - the original one ~675mb - the ripped gold version ~all levels and powers unlocked. No music tracks. But if you're just planning to play a few hours to remember your childhood you might want this one. ~265mb
|
...675mb? That's a typo, right?
|
No it's not a typo. It's a .bin file, equivalent to an .iso and it works fine with the whole soundtrack.
|
It's 5.99usd on gog, will work on windows 7.

2 and 3 are also available. It's a real shame Rayman Origins isn't coming to PC, it looks great. Ubisoft's misguided view on piracy is exasperating.
Edit: Didn't see the year was 2010, sorry.
