EPTI know what you're thinking, "what's Lemon Demon?"
Well, good friend, Lemon Demon is a really great band.
"Well if they're so great, how come I never heard of them."
Good question, but in all likelihood you actually probably already have. Remember that song, "The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny" that set the internet on fire a couple years back?
That's Lemon Demon.
"Alright, I am interested. So why don't you tell me some more about Lemon Demon"
Well, Lemon Demon was fronted by a guy named Neil Cicierga. He wrote the songs, and played most of the instruments. As I understand it, he was supported by some of his buddies.
Their greatest success was the aforementioned internet meme. I actually think that's pretty unfortunate, though. They have a lot of wonderful songs that are, in my opinion, much better. (although the line "Spock, the Rock, Doc Oc, and Hulk Hogan" always struck me as particularly brilliant.)
"Well why are this guys songs so great, huh?"
Well, I am a songwriter myself and the reason I love Lemon Demon is that Neil manages to be cliched, clever, and completely unique all at the same time. That's no mean feat.
He has a song about a man who falls out of an airplane, then as he's falling through the air he has a conversation with the grim reaper, and then as he's about to smack in to the ocean a squid catches him... and it just gets weirder from there.
How about a song about a magical love powered watch that falls in to the ocean, eventually giving rise to a fish led rebellion which forces humanity undersea.

How about a song about a man who is obsessed and in love with a box of crayola crayons? My personal favorite.
A cute little kitten song?
How about one about a man who travels back in time to tell the Archeopteryx (a dinosaur) that he never meant for it to die (in the meteor strike which occurred millions of years before he was born!)
Can't link that one either, but it shouldn't be too hard for you to find! It's called "Archeopteryx"
How about a song about... well... it's about linking together words which are unrelated (my other personal favorite.)
And many more.
So why should you like Lemon Demon?
1) His songs and lyrics are clever and unique.
2) He thinks of some really great rhymes.
3) His songs are funny.
4) He is a good musician with a great handle on many instruments and he writes almost every thing himself.
Why shouldn't you like Lemon Demon?
1) He has a LOT of dud songs that really aren't worth listening to.
2) He doesn't have a great singing voice, really.
3) I wrote him a long winded piece of fan mail and he NEVER REPLIED ;__; I like to think he never got it. Yeah... that's it.
