I'd like to propose that TeamLiquid is the Anti-Lake Wobegone, and the slogan should go like this: EDIT (for any that care): Sonuvbob actually came up with a much better version than mine, which I will take the liberty of posting here. TeamLiquid: Where all the men are in diamond, all the women are men, and all the blogs are below average. Note that this slogan could probably apply well to other similarly minded communities on the internet. Thought of the day!    | ||

Just like not all of the women in Lake Wobegone are strong, not all of the women on TL are attention whores - similarly, not all of the men in Lake Wobegone are good looking just like not all of the men on TL are trolls. And @Carnac: nope, I was thinking about Lake Wobegone while I was cleaning the bathroom and decided to write about its relationship to TL, and then I looked it up on Wikipedia and realized it was connected to an actual concept in psychology. Not everyone who wants to get attention is an attention whore. Otherwise every thread and perhaps every post written on every forum would be done by an attention whore? Major thing that makes one an attention whore is IMO not trying to be constructive at all. Your plan about getting into diamond and your logic behind it sounds very constructive. Being a girl on the internet can get you more attention but it doesn't automaticly make you an attention whore. There is rather more to it than just having vagina instead of penis. Approach different from what you have shown in your previous blog is needed. Do you just feel stigmatized because you are a girl or what because I don't get it >_< There recently has been a girl blog that made TL update it's policy regarding females users. "Tits or gtfo" attitude hasn't been punished enough before it, as far as I understood it? I hope someone will tell you the details. And TBH I think we are browsing 2 different sites because I don't see and don't feel that being a troll or retarded kid is common trend here. Those people are being constantly warned and banned to make them not post in this way. And that's why I can't find this slogan funny at all. I even would like to ask you to give some examples to showcase this? | ||

Posters exhibiting opinions counter to mine are incorrect, and therefore must be deficient in some way." This is completely untrue from my experience, but since I assume this is a joke, I won't go on. I have to say, though, my first thought in discussing this portrayal of cognitive bias and how it's evidenced on TL was that every martial artist here feels he can prevail from any combat situation. TL: Where every man is a ripped, Diamond, successful, strategic genius capable of defeating 100 5 year olds in hand to hand combat. And every woman draws dozens of terrible posters. | ||
