... So little time!
I always have small projects going on, and ideas in my head. So I'll blog them, where people might find it interesting!
First thought: Any of the famous streamers, day9, GLHF, gosugamers, etc, could contact the top players for a charity/e-sports auction. Ie, IdrA shows up to support a random cause, viewers get to auction for matches against IdrA, top 10 highest bidders gets to play IdrA in a bo1. Of course it should be a auction where no one can see bids of the other competitors. 75% of auction-money goes to the charity, while the last 25% is kept by the pro for participating.
There could go a lot of pride into being the highest auctioned player i guess! I know I would pay to play IdrA .
Second thought: How useful would a constant win percentage (showing for each player in a match), be for the observers? I think I could design it by using neural networks, but I lack an easy way to gather thousands of game informations - Does anyone know of online databases storing matches (not files but details on unit counts, etc., ie 10 min into the game)?

First thought: cool idea. :D Someone like Artosis/Xeris should totally do this. Second thought: not sure what you mean..

It was a bit confusing i think .. I'll try explaining. Right after loosing 10% drones, it's always an estimation (by the commentator!) how much that player is down... By analyzing thousands or perhaps MILLIONS of replays of top diamond players, an AI can give a very accurate estimation of how much the player's chance of winning has dropped.

I got the gist. He's talking about a type of display that would say, start at 50%/50% and as the game progresses the %/% changes with respect to whatever it is determined through heavy data analysis

Exactly!

That's what I thought it was, but the wording was kinda weird lol.

1. sounds like it could be great for publicity. 2. sounds like it could be interesting trivia if some coding genius decided he wanted to birth such a program, but I wouldn't get much out of it personally. Half the fun of spectating is assessing the game situation on your own, weighing suspense against your own hopes and predictions.

Actually number 2 is the coolest idea ever!
It wouldn't be very hard. The point isn't to make an absolute prediction about the game but just a general idea about how the game is going. All it would do is calculate econ + army in terms of minerals/gas and show who is ahead.
It would be wild to see someone with 20% suddenly rise to like 80% after a big battle. It would easily show who's ahead without checking expansions and army size which is generally how people see who's ahead anyways. And it would be easy for casual spectators to get an idea about who's ahead and who's not.

You might be right! What i thought was commentators could use it, when casting games - but again, as you said, it might take something away from the game .. the uncertainty how much a player is behind or ahead.

nr.2 is pretty intriguing, but im afraid it might spoil some games for those of us who watch without paying too much attention! :D then again something like: WOW WOW HE CAME BACK FROM A 1% WINNING CHANCE FUCKING AWESOME games would be pretty cool

#2 is a great great idea and would be totally awesome. kinda like the % chances when watching poker i spose?

Yeah precisely.

+ Show Spoiler +Except maybe not when Idra/Cool are playing

Actually, if made properly, it would start with the correct win percentage, ie 47% for zerg, or so.
