Age Of Love - The Age Of Love EP

Considered by many to be the very first true Trance Single. Remixed over 9000 times but the one remix that got everyones attention was Jam & Spoons "Watch Out For Stella Mix". Massive hit when it first hit the dance floors and still gets highly played, if not but for the nostalgias sake.
Hypnotic, driving, euphoric true trance at its finest.

Underworld - Dark & Long EP

Made famous by the awesome movie "Trainspotting". This EP is considered to be more on the house or techno side of electronic music but the one Version of Dark & Long I'm talking about is
Underworld - Dark & Long (Dark Train). Lenght over 10mins, melody that is strangely both happy and sad at the same time, great athmosphere and a structure that keeps on building through the whole song. Absolutely mindblowing soundengineering for the time by Rick Smith and classic vocals by Karl Hyde.

#3 Sasha & John Digweed - Northern Exposure

Following the trend of godtier mixed albums started by Sashas and Digweeds first Renaissance collection, Northern Exposure is one of the finest Mix CDs of the 90s. The First CD "North" starts out slowly with chillout/breakbeat tunes of that time but the second CD "South" picks it up and really gives the listener a great interpretation of what the mid 90s Trance music sounded like. Great mixing techniques for the time and a perfected tracklist. Get this one now!

Thanks! I don't listen to any electronic music but I'm pretty interested, so I'll give these a try.

Northern Exposure is pretty amazing. I have Vol.1(north and south), Vol. 2 (east and west), and Expeditions.

I think Tranceport 1 and 2 (Oakenfold and Dave Ralph respectively) are also essential trance mixes.

Oakenfold's Goa Mix (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goa_Mix) is also another trance essential.

edit: I almost forgot F.A.C.T. by Carl Cox ( http://www.discogs.com/Carl-Cox-FACT/release/62949 ). Absolutely amazing trance and techno mix.

Lastly, Euphoria: Ibiza (Matt Darey mix) is another trance mix that is filled with so many trance classics. Yeah man! Northern Exposure series is in their own class, I included the first one because it represented best of that eras sound.
Tranceport 1 is pure ownage and so is Oakies Perfecto pres. Another World Mix Album aswell. I was actually thinking of including that Carl Cox mix or one of Oakies mixes in my upcoming blogposts

Glad to see that here is people who doesnt just know ASOT and TATW.
