So I just came back from the shelter and adopted a 3 month old kitten. It's your normal american short hair. Her original name is Monique, but I'm gonna change that real quick.

She's in the shelter getting spayed and her nails clipped right now, so I can take her home tomorrow.

I bought all the essentials, but I'm wondering what else I would need for a playful kitten. She was very active, crawling and jumping all around me when we were getting to know each other.

Patience. Just because she plays with you now when you want her to does not mean that she will only want to play when you want.

My cat loves to play with me...at 4 am when I am trying to get a few hours of sleep before work.

The biggest problem with kittens, I've found, is that they usually grow up to be evil, snarling, high-strung creatures whose personalities border on misanthropic. :<

Enjoy your kitten while you can (but if it magically stays nice and/or cute, then you are a lucky man)!

I LURVE cats, but I'm really allergic to them...so any fawning is usually done from a good distance away (or at a computer screen T^T).

my kitten is now a cat, but hes still pretty nice and active. His name is smokey. We picked him up at a local pets mart, someone dropped off 4 kittens and we got him for free ^_^

Too cute for school. I still remember someone's parents brought a couple of kittens when I was in elementary school while picking up their kids. Ever since, I thought kittens were the cutest creatures ever.
