Disclaimer: Don't bother responding if you don't like/don't appreciate/aren't entertained by Pro Wrestling at least a little bit.
Like Triple H being one of the most talented Wrestlers, IdrA is also one of the best Pro Players. IdrA, with his Bad Mannering, really makes himself out to be a really good "bad guy", or, in Professional Wrestling terms, a "heel", the person the crowd roots against. And as Triple H is easily one of the best heels ever, if SC2 was like Professional Wrestling, IdrA would probably make an excellent heel. I can't help but imagine how entertained I'd be if IdrA did something like bring out a Championship Belt that said "King of the Beta" on it and came out to Triple H's "King of Kings" Entrance music. That'd be awesome.
In closing, all I can say is Bow Down to IdrA, the King of Kings:
I certainly think that the scene as a whole could benefit if the pro gamers adopted a bit of an on-stage personality aside from their own. Not too much different, just something to get fans a bit more excited.

Yeah, I totally agree.
However, it would probably reduce the "prestige" they're trying to establish as an E-Sport. Professional Wrestling gets shat on all the time by people saying stuff like "lol it's fake", JUST because it's fake and they don't give it a chance. "Video Games" already have a stigma for being "nerdy" etc. so it would probably be much worse if they added stigma like "lol it's fake" to it.

Don't drink much beer, but this sounds negative. So in short, I refer you to the disclaimer. Don't like it? Don't bother responding to it. It wastes your time, and, more importantly, it wastes ours.
They tried having sc people have more personalities (remember FBH?) Kespa decided that it wasn't professional, and basically made it impossible to have the ceremonies be creative and/or memorable.

Not saying IdrA is a "bad guy" in the sense that I don't think he's a "horrible person". I think the world of IdrA and have the deepest respect for him. His BM, however, makes it easier to cheer against him/cheer for his opponent, which is the point of what a heel is. If SC2 were wrestling, to continue this metaphor, TLO would be what is known as a "babyface" or just simply a "face", the "good guy". Tremendously popular and the crowd loves to cheer for him.
It all has to do with who the crowd would be more likely to cheer for or against.
lol I watched wrestling so long ago he was hunter hearst helmsly and this makes the thread entirely hilarious.
Hunter Hearst Helmsley (not his real name) has certainly come along way. Don't exactly see what makes it so funny though.
Idra and Hunter Hearst Helmsley mentioned in the same sentence is utterly hilarious. It's like , too many thing to handle. White guy in korea playing videogames with not a great performance or a heal character with a very poorly built persona in the world of professional wresting.
Heroes and villains is what drives sports and stuff. There's actually a pretty interesting interview with Sean Avery (NHL player) where he talks about this and how it should be worked into NHL marketing. It works for all sports.
Look at Lebron. People fucking hate him now. THink they'll be watching??
I think Brett Favre may be the biggest cocksucker in all of sports. Yet I am watching his games, rooting for his head to be taken off by Patrick Willis.
