So, after many a non-ranked 1v1s I finally decided to throw my hat into the ladder again. First two games of the day, I get a win over a Diamond level terran (who was pretty douchey) I saw he played Terran during the loading screen and I told him I spawned T, to which he replied "I spawned Z." After I scouted him he went "oops".
Man, the game was so intense that my arm was burning! It sounds so silly and I feel a bit embarrassed admitting it. Beating him got me into platinum, then went on to beat another platinum level terran, who then got demoted into gold.. I felt kinda of bad for that one. Well, break time over, time to go hit that ladder again :D .
Thanks again to all who read and to the community in general. I wouldn't be anywhere without you, TL ^^;

*single tear*
I don't play Zerg but every time you guys are happy about beating terrans I get a little emotive.

Dude I hear ya. I got placed in gold at first, and it was such a rush getting into diamond. The other day I got ranked 5th in my division and even though my score is relatively low (about 550) I got quite a rush from it lol

@Dj: I play random ^^ I beat the diamond Terran as Terran my self and the poor T who got demoted I played Toss.

Come back and say that after you mass game /sigh

Taking a good win in Ladders always makes a shitty day slightly unshitty.

Weird :/ To me SC2 laddering feels cheap and shallow, like leveling up in an RPG Maybe it's the experience bars and gamer score displayed prominently on everyone's profile, but something about bnet 2.0, and the SC2 experience in general, doesn't seem conducive to actual improvement.

I feel like I just have to point out that what you're describing is much more WC3 than SC2. Not only are veteran warcraft accounts identified with the 2000+ win icons beside their name, the ladder was actually labeled as 'levels' and you really 'level up' through the ladder.
I find laddering is fun and exciting (although I still get random waves of anxiety before pushing that Start game button). Hopefully after enough people get to the top, maybe we can see something more akin to ICCUP where seasons will reset, the community will finally identify +2000 points as A+ or olympic and maybe some open ladder tournaments actually pushed by blizzard

I really enjoy laddering tbh
I preferred the WC3 ladder system in that it told me where I stood in terms of the entire server and not just my league though

For every game you win, Mortis, someone must lose...
You should be ashamed of yourself, having fun at the expense of some random player who probably only has starcraft 2 as his sole joy in life and his league status as his only accomplishment. GG
