Milk staying at home for all its worth. You dont realize how much there actually is to take care of until you do it. Waking up to find theres no toilet paper sucks...let mom and dad buy it for a bit longer. Be absolutely positive not to listen to this guy. (sorry this guy!)

I just moved out and have burned through thousands and thousands of dollars faster than you can imagine. It's going to much a much more expensive proposition than you can imagine. By the way, what do you do? Also, start doing research into options for moving out even if you aren't going to do it. Maybe report back on what typical rents are and what they include.

But honestly you're 18, I don't know too many 18 year olds who can take care of themselves, and what will happen if you lose your job, or something just as bad happens? Won't you be too embarrassed go crawling back to your parents? =/

How much does it really cost you guys to live? The trick is, don't try to replicate your parents house in your new home, you can't do it!! Start your own style of life and just chill. I have a really close relationship with my parents, moved out at 18 for school and have never moved back, it's really great to have the time to yourself.

be honest. they want the best for you despite what it may seem. let them know you want to move on with your life, that the lifestyle you have right now just isn't working for you. But also make sure they know that just because you're moving out doesn't mean you're leaving their lives, and I'd suggest helping like an hour or two with stuff around their house (here and there) as a sign of good will. Don't ask them about it before you've done research and have papers, numbers, and phone #'s. Show them you're serious, prepared, you want to do it for yourself but are willing to take their help. I'd go even further and say take them out to dinner & present it there. Also, don't complain about your current conditions. If they wonder why you want to move and need a specific answer from you, tell them you don't like having to do yardwork on top of rent on top of jobs. But matter-of-factly, blame is on the yard always getting weeds or the upkeep--but not the parents. Tell them the goals and dreams you have that this is getting in the way of (in reason--playing sc2 professionally isnt gonna cut it unless your parents are really tight) It's your life. You're 18 and legally able to take control of it. The only thing blocking you is what you put up yourself.
