Hi. Another live chess commentary after a long-ish break. This time I'm playing against a relatively strong player (FM :o) so it's quite different from previous commentated games. If you want to know why I'm doing these check my previous blog entries. Cheers.

commentating on your games lowers your play by a lot, i notice as you waste time. i think you would have played better if you weren't recording it and trying to commentate on it. the only time commentating while playing works is when you play people worse than you.

I agree, you shouldnt do live commentary. Record audio later

What they said is probably true with the short timer... in a longer game it would be fine I guess but.... who would watch it then haha.
This seemed like a game you would also benefit from by reviewing it on your own... from my perspective. Thanks, I enjoyed watching.

I don't really want to do non-live commentaries. Thats because I don't actually get anything for myself by doing those (yeah im selfish :p). Doing these live is incredibly helpful for spotting weaknesses in my play. Yeah it's true I do play worse, but not only it's much more interesting for viewers, but it also gives a much better insight how someone who isn't completely terrible thinks about chess. Yeah I'd like to do longer games because in this one I kinda didn't have time to go into much depth about why I did stuff I did, but then again, no one would want to listen to me rambling about stuff for an hour or two.

All the moves that I was thinking DO THAT you immediately did them and then 10 seconds later was like "DOH THAT WAS STUPID" haha... guess I'm stuck at my level of play for now!
