It is sad-- but, realistically-- its a really good way to take the focus away from "Its just your real name, whats the big deal." to-- holy shit, we need to pay attention to what we are asking of people.

You are right-- they are keeping REAL ID, in the game-- which is good, when I logged into the game, all of the people that I know really well-- all wanted to hook up with our real IDs. I am glad they changed it to that, instead of FORCING you to add REAL ID friends to your list.

Now you can just have the gamer tag, which is awesome! --- But this forum thing is just weird, I don't like it at all. You should choose who can see it, and who cannot.

I do agree that it is a terrible idea for them to make real ID, but apparently Mr. Kotick thinks that social networking in a game is more important to gamers than actual gameplay or in game networking.

The cute thing is that obviously their main goal is to make money, which is fine...

But the issue I have is, now their way of making money is putting people's well being at risk. I'm not one to wish bad things to happen to people or companies, but I really hope this backfires hard. I really, really hope this doesn't make it through.
