EDIT: If all the times I threatened someone I actually bought a boat, my backyard would look like this:
+ Show Spoiler +
So I was on Ventrilo about a month ago and this guy I don't know logs in. Now I'm new to the server, but the guys already in my channel I know, one lived down the street from me and the other lived about two towns west.
So we find out it's this annoying kid with a highpitched voice who called himself "Prestige11" and I just facepalm IRL because I know it's one of those stereotypical modern warfare 2 faggots who annoy everyone. He randomly selects me to be his target because the name I use (arcticwarfurr, ARCTIC NOT MODERN) happens to be at the beginning of the alphabet.
So I stay silent through this whole thing and one of my friends decides to bail my ass out of the fire and says to the kid "Yo, do you know who this guy is?" and the kid shuts up for a sec. Now I'm just waiting for him to say something snappy and give me a second to get two Advils, one to cure the headache and one to jam down this kid's throat.
He says, "This guy can hack you before you know it. Know why he's not saying anything? He's too busy acquiring your dad's social security number."
Now the kid actually starts talking again, but he's nervous. He calls my bluff, so I just give him a slightly modified version of a number i saw in an identity theft protection commercial, and he starts begging me.
Point being, I want to push this through a little bit to get him to log off the channel, so I start telling him how I've always wanted a boat. I search "boat" on ebay and recite the name and price of a nice-looking one, 16 feet long and about USD$5,200, and copy and paste the URL, and tell him that I've almost gotten to his dad's credit card number and as soon as I do that boat is mine. I have no idea how to actually get from Social Security to credit cards, but these kids don't know about it either, so he believes me.
My friends get pictures of their favorite boats, and we're just making fun of this kid with our boat threats until he asks for our demands. I tell him "Just let me remember this moment," and we tell him how Aidan just started the whole hacker story to shut him up. He laughed and then left, and then we laughed at him for buying the story.
Problem is, last year, a cop visited our school and told us we could actually get fines/prison if we do shit like that, and I'm just wondering, is it by the consent of the victim? The kid laughed along at the end, and I don't think I'ma get in trouble, but if I did, what would I get (not in the US, but in other countries around the World too.)?

nah you def cant get in trouble for that lol.

Yeah nothing will come of this lol.

BMing that annoying kid like that should be great, but really in such a world, you shouldn't take chances. Common sense says that you were just messing around with that kid, and he deserved it, but the world doesn't work like that unfortunately
edit: hahaha nice one Frozz

I feel bad for everyone involved. Truthfully, I mostly feel bad for myself.

lol, if ur a minor, the only threats that you could actually get in trouble for are national security related. I.e. if you were to threaten to bomb said kid, it would be an issue. Also, its the bloody internet, im not really sure how said kid would be able to find you again and discern who you are irl, and then proceed to start a lawsuit.

Tell him you dont know what he's talking about, your friends should back you up no ones going to believe some shitfaced little 13 year old anyway

sounds like you should make a pre-emptive attack before shit hits the fan
find out where he lives
destroy him
delete blog
then you will be safe
BUT I KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE DONE

Maybe it might be classified as "cyberbullying"? Kid sounds like he deserved it anyway.

I believe you just discovered the ART OF TROLLING people on the internet.
Welcome to the brotherhood.

What are they gonna say, "This kid pretended to use my dad's (false) social security card to buy a boat which he didn't buy, and then told me he was just kidding and we all laughed about it!!! WTF!!!"

Anon is legion.
But he could still say that it was still cyberbullying so IDK what will happen.
Only one way to check: find another unsuspecting kid and tell him I'm buying boats with his dad's money, see how he reacts.

unless he commits suicide or something, there's no chance of anything.
well, most likely i should say.

You're in America, so you're guilty of Cyber Bullying, probably Terrorism, psychological abuse, and possibly fraud. I'm pretty sure you can be hanged.
Either that or absolutely nothing will come of it...but I'm pretty sure you'll get hanged.

I believe you are threatening him because you want to "get back at him", not trying to get his money, etc. I highly doubt this is a serious offense.
