Heya.
I'm an enthusiastic chess player, used to play somewhat competetively 3 years ago, but stopped and now I'm really rusty. I find that simply verbalizing your thoughts helps a lot to see flaws in your thinking, so I've been doing that lately to help myself get back in shape. And I figured, why not make some videos? Yeah I'm not a great player by any means, but I suppose people might still find this interesting.
I've done one commentary before (see previous blog entry) and this is the second one. Cheers.

Thanks for the commentary. What an epic finish hahaha.
Why were you so strongly trying to get your knight to e4? I remember reading that it's good to get your knight backed up on the fourth row if you are black (fifth if you are white) but don't totally understand why this is such a general fact.
I mean once he positioned himself so that you could threaten a royal fork there the motivation to dance the knight around for four moves made a bit more sense to me. I find positioning knights like that to be very difficult...

Yeah, 1768... I got it in my very first rated tournament, where I had only ~6 months of expierence so I got owned. I never had a chance to improve it because rated tournaments happen rarely where I live and require and take lots of time, which I don't really have.
@micronesia: well I didn't say that out loud but I couldn't really find a suitable square for the knight except e4, so I just went for it. Moving to e7 was natural because I wanted to keep strong hold over f5 and d5, and then it was only a few moves to get to e4, not like I had much else to do.

Wow, if you didn't spent too much bullshitting in the beginning you won't be back against the wall of winning the game only by 0.3 second...
Next time maybe you can show that "Dutch Defense" you were talking about.

Next time maybe you can show that "Dutch Defense" you were talking about. What is wrong with you, he played great and was only "bullshitting" because he was giving us commentary, which I really appreciate a lot more than just running through book going "this is pretty standard" like most players do.
I'm only 1668 so the thought process he shows in his play is a little deeper than what I usually think in a 15 minute game. I tend to play those like I play blitz.

Hahah, I suppose you are right. But when I watch most of the commentaries its like: "I go to xx, he goes yy, I go zz, he goes ...". Well duh, I CAN SEE THAT MYSELF. If I don't "bullshit" then I might as well not commentate.
