So after doing course selections in McGill, I realized that the system to find information for courses is pretty much designed to make you mispick the courses. Since it's the summer and boring, I've decided to make a webapp for mcgill students to search for courses, and the webapp will layout all the prerequisites in a tree form like so:
In addition to that, my webapp can also tell you which courses will use the course entered as a prerequisite, sort of like a 'post requisite' if you will, like so:
Everything is pretty much finished... I'm just looking for a catchy/easy to remember name because I'm hoping for this app to catch on with students and encourage mcgill to upgrade their course index.
An ideal name would be less than 8 letters long, and is easy to pronounce/spell. And hopefully the domain is available so I can register a .net or .com or .ca domain of it.

Oh man, I would kill to have a webapp like this that showed me the courses necessary for my degree plan. God that would be -sick.-

Ooh, I like the way you designed it. Nice n clean! I don't fully understand it but thats probably because I dont know your coursesystem and courses. Maybe a small tutorial for complete clarity when somebody signs up or whatever could help everyone?
Hope it catches on and replaces the old crappy system, gl!

hmm... McGill --> fish gills --> breath / breadth --> search --> prediction --> omniscience --> crystal ball
Deep Red The Palantir Big Gilly
Student A: What classes are you taking next semester? Student B: I'm not sure. Let me consult {Deep Red, The Palantir, Big Gilly}.
Gillit is pretty good to: Student B: I'm not sure. Let me Gillit.

There's some website that helps you choose courses for McGill already. My friends use it but I've never tried it.
Sorry can't remember the name.

What is "Gillitt"? Is that supposed to be like Gill It?
Someone at Princeton did the same thing (course selection, etc.) and called it 'Integrated Course Engine' aka ICE.
Call it the McGill Tech Tree imo.

I know what you're talking about. That website basically just arranges your time table when you enter a set of courses.
Thanks for the suggestions guys! Seems like Courselect is pretty clever, and for some reason CourseTree have been suggested by a crapload of people, so I'm thinking there must be something to it. I'm thinking of eventually expanding this to other canadian universities if they don't already have the functionality.

I like Courselect a lot too, although I guess CourseTree could work as well. Feels like imaginative however.
But I have to say I got confused when reading it the first time, so maybe capitalizing the S to make "CourSelect" or something would be better. I'm not sure.
Seems like a cool app, is there anyway to try it out ATM?

"ThisIsWhatYouShouldHaveDoneToBeginWithSchoolAdmin"
Anything short and easy to say should do the trick.
CourseTree just cuz it's to the point
