Just a note to everyone out there in singapore in TL, are you all going to buy the SEA version or the US one? Paying $109 is kind of ridiculous for a game(if im correct its a record high price for a game)
I haven't really noticed but i think it should be about the same since last time in Bnet 1.0, i always log on to the US West server for either starcraft or dota(sg hosts tho)but it always either had spikes or delay
Is getting the US one worth it? Or should i spend $109 on buying the SEA version for less lag( assuming i buy it cause im quite pissed off with Bnet 2.0 anyway)
Poll: Which version should i buy?The SEA version (29) 69% The US Version (13) 31% 42 total votes Your vote: Which version should i buy? (Vote): The US Version (Vote): The SEA version
EDIT: oh yah, for those who are voting, if you have the time can you tell me why would u rather buy the SEA/US version? thanks alot

Since there is no cross realm support, you'd better buy the version where you have the most friends. But I guess on the long run, you'll eventually buy both versions. Blizzard are geniuses :<
|
And hey if you have any friends from Europe, you might as well dish out another $60 + $60 + $60 (or whatever it may cost there)
but you still won't have any easy way to communicate with or add them.
lmao @ activision

Seems like you're screwed no matter what you do. Buy the SEA version and you pay twice as much, and are isolated from the rest of the world. Buy the US version and you have to deal with huge latency issues, and you're unable to play with your SEA buddies.
|
For me, many of my friends who were interested are not even buying SC2 anymore. Frankly, now that so few of them are buying, I might skip SC2 as protest.

buy the US version and if you want to play with your buddies, go to a pc cafe :3

Why the SEA version more expensive?
|
Are there really different versions of the game? I thought it would be like in Beta, where your B.Net account determines which server you connect to.

i suppose its due to "shipping costs"

paying 60 * 5(? regions, unsure...) * 3 expansions (=$900) for a single game is pretty cool huh. I bet you could find an arcade cabinet cheaper, it's pretty pants on head if you ask me.
Edit: That's if you wanna play in tournaments, I suppose.

i'm buying the SEA version.. that's cause I don't have a credit card.. Come to think of it, i might actually cancel my pre-order and boycott it because $109 is totally ridiculous. No game is worth $109.
|
I am not gonna buy SC2 till end of year,i hate playing with SEA only people.Prefer to be like BW can play all the ppl in the world.
|
I'm buying the US version.
Even back in the WC3 days I only played in USWest servers only, and I know a lot of Singaporeans play there as well.
Anyway, it pissed me off that they think they can charge us more just like that.
I can say I'm never buying the SEA version based on principle alone. I'd rather people all buy the 'friendly' version than to let blizzard get away with this.
|
I guess the best way is to just wait till SC2 is released for about a month then checkout forums to see if SEA server is populated enough and really has lower latency than other gateways like what the IAHgames PR dude said about paying more for better service and latency.
