Would this put me too much behind?

zoltanqc Canada171 Posts May 31 2010 02:33 GMT #1 I have this idea for the map desert oasis : Do you think it would be viable to lift my CC at the start (or soon after) and place it at my natural and just not use the main after that? Reason is Im having problems against blinking stalkers/reapers.

Your economy would be so far behind that when the reaper got to your base he would just go scout your natural and then kill all your probes. If you think there is going to be some sort of reaper harassment, just chrono boost a gate and make 1 stalker. Put it in your mineral line and BAM the reapers are rendered completely useless.

Rkie United States1278 Posts May 31 2010 02:47 GMT #9 Ok, so you want to lose time to float your CC a decent distance away, gaining no mineral benefit like gold patches, just because you are not confident in your play vs. 2 unit types? this is a bad idea. marauders are very strong against stalkers, so just scout all over the place, and use marauders. Against reapers, marines are very effective, so I would recommend those.

Tadzio 3340 Posts May 31 2010 02:49 GMT #10 It takes 60 seconds to move a CC from the starting position to the natural. A 10 rax Reaper completes in 137 seconds. Your opponent would be confused for a bit, but I don't think it's viable. You'd probably be better served lifting to the island... but I still wouldn't recommend it. It's better to just learn how to stop it.
