Memories of a WGTour admin...part 2

Hello fellow TLers,

here I go for the second part of my offline memories.
In the first part I stopped at the WWI in summer 2008 in Paris.

A bit later that summer, AureS organized a LAN for french players in Paris that i helped admining. That LAN was the first of a series of 4.

Some well known players were there:

Couple of months later, Europe was to welcome another huge event: the World Cyber Games in Cologne, Germany.
After a pretty long train Trip al the way from Grenoble to Cologne I finally got there around 8 am. After getting a bit lost in the city trying to call Dknight(thanks for changing your number for a german one without warning!) I finally found the place:

I met with my fellow WGT admins. some were awake:

The opening ceremony was just epic with Dknight walking around representing an African country:

A great surprise was to actually run into CDS)Crow, who had qualified...for Guitar Hero!

Before going to the parties (mostly in our rooms :p) I will put the picture of two girls from the organisation and I d like to take the time to particularly thank the German girl (on the right) for helping me with my suitcase when I arrived and showing me a bit around in the venue.

The way home across the bridge was as fun as the party itself:

Throughout the week we also had a lot of fun in our rooms.
Here is when I make everyone that enters our room taste a french alcohol called chartreuse (55%). In the end it I ended up drinking it with Ace, Tasteless and Draco, with Tasteless telling me he actually had a french ancestry (not sure if he meant it or if he was just wasted).

A lot of fun stuff happend, like Choblar trying to sleep while we were poking him (or worse, see the picture)so he would stay awake.
Also the night before I arrived Revolve decided to repaint the wall of his room so I ended up in Frank s room instead of his. But it is ok Armin, we love you anyways.

Poker was also serious business, thanks for teaching Legend and me guys!

After that epix sunday night I had to get a train at 5am at the station so I went with the WGT guys and Ghardo for an uberearly McDonalds in the station, fighting sleep.

That was a great event!

I will end my part 2 here but before going for part 3 here are a couple of cheers and thanks.

First of all the WGT staff for being just awesome, you re like family guys <3

Then Ret for being so friendly and even giving me his WCG Tshirt for other players to sign on. I still have it in my flat. Thank you so much!

I d also like to thank Gharbo and Draco for being so friendly, Zuqbu and Zulu for their company in the venue, MnM for practicing mandarin with me, the RoX team for being so awesome too (special cheer to Dimaga, Templar and Bruce),Mutal for being a nice referee and everyone who showed up, including, of course, the TL staff!
