We're all obviously hugely disappointed in the direction that BNet 2.0 is taking but in this instance, what can we do?
Boycotting the game isn't an option because we're a very small minority and there's no way to make everyone agree to a boycott.
We could try having everyone send them open letters until we finally get the point through their head. Essentially spam their inbox with a well-written essay (probably by one of the TL writers). That'd probably get ignored too.
If everyone started cancelling their pre-orders, and sending an email why, maybe Blizzard will get the picture that they are designing our game, not the other way around.
Do we have a choice? SC2 in its current state, is okay as a game (far from great like BW) but BNet 2.0 is dragging it down and it will never be successful on such a shitty platform. What do you think?

Blizzcon 2010. The SC or D3 game design panel. (Because wowtards wont care) Get a group of people together and start screaming at them, that you want chat channels, access to other realms, and ask them how are tournaments supposed to work. Be prepapred to be removed from the convention center by force by security guards.

I bet the proliferation of third-party servers (a la ICCUP) and hacked-in LAN play will be the most likely thing to push Blizzard in the right direction. Ultimately, I blame Activision, because I bet they are the ones really dictating these policies more than the Blizzard people. A better option might be to boycott all other Activision releases, and pledge to support non-BNet play.

Blizzard HQ is only a few minutes from my school campus, maybe we UC Irvine students should do something...

Pure raw all-out internet-violence.
Spam the forums. DDOS their site. Hate mails. Constant phone calls.

I'll just continue to laugh at blizzard with a condescending attitude that makes them feel insecure and childish.
At the end of the day neither of us will have gotten anywhere, but I'll be laughing

We really can't do anything. We'd need an extended Q&A to even make our points to them but even then it's entirely in their hands.
I could pump a couple thousand word essay on it but we need the exposure and attention from people like dbrow to get it to work.
The only reason to hope is that they DO seem to put the desires of the community at least in the back of their minds when making the game so either they've changed that approach or there is some reason they don't want to disclose.

Maybe this is all part of blizzard's plan. Release the super awaited super awesome BATTLE.NET 2.0 that everyone hates, then release Battle.net Classic and make BILLIONS.

You can post your opinion in a respectful way on the beta forums.
You can email your feedback to blizzard.
Don't be retarded dicks though(you'll just undermine your message)
anyways there are plans in the works i believe, regarding TL and probably other sites

This is just wrong; Blizzard and Activision are both owned by Activision Blizzard, a holding company for the two enterprises. Vivendi, a French conglomerate, owns a controlling share of Activision Blizzard.

So the French are behind this? The bastards :p

Maybe this is a marketing ploy when next year comes around and Blizzard announces Bnet 2.1!!! further improved with chat channels. To get people to buy their game since Bnet got improved.
I hope that doesn't happen but with things in the current state who knows?

What the hell is with this "all-out internet warfare" things?
Just letter bomb them with tons of snail mail. A physical letter is twenty emails and a hundred signature.

Hunger strike at Blizz HQ in Irvine.

Rate the game down wherever possible.

Suggesting we should buy 3 copies of SC2 to play on other servers is too much .... they just crossed the line here. It's unbelievable how greedy for money they are.

We already know asia will have at least 2, and I would suspect South America will have its own. We also found out recently Russia will have a server. That is 6 so far, the number could get higher.

Wouldn't mind doing something at BlizzCon. Not anything that would get us kicked out (as that would ruin the point of going in the first place), but something so that people would "know" what it's about. Probably wear a special T-shirt or something, so everyone will "see it" and photos will be uploaded of it online but you're not actually doing anything to disrupt the event or anything.

The best thing to do is to get them through journalism. If a big gaming website is willing to showcase our opinion then Blizzard will have to act to get rid of the bad press.
