Does anyone know of any good educational sites that are free?
I'm talking about sites like ted.com and khanacademy.org
I personally love khanacademy.org, it's filled with information and it's really easy to learn from that site. If you haven't checked it out, you should do it now. It's really informative and they have everything from algebra to history to physics.
Here's an excerpt from the site:
The Khan Academy is a not-for-profit organization with the mission of providing a high quality education to anyone, anywhere.
We have 1200+ videos on YouTube covering everything from basic arithmetic and algebra to differential equations, physics, chemistry, biology and finance which have been recorded by Salman Khan. Listen to a recent interview by Salman with NPR's All Things Considered
The Khan Academy and Salman Khan have received a 2009 Tech Award in Education. The Tech Awards is an international awards program that honors innovators from around the world who are applying technology to benefit humanity.
Anyways, I kind of tracked off explaining how great khanacademy.org is. My original intent for this blog was to find out more sites like khanacademy. So, does anyone else know any good educational sites?
Edit: should the title say [R] or [Q]? lol T_T.

well it depends on what sort of educations that u are looking for?
academics? ie: the stuff that u learn at school? food/health facts? inspiring lectures? social skills? nature? etc etc...
also, just a word of advice, lectures from TED.com well actually lectures in general should be taken with a grain of salt, seperate what is personal interpretation of facts and the facts presented, facts are the most important part of any education, interpretations of it is are best left with ur own intellectual faculties imo.

Oh, thanks for telling me that. I only just discovered TED.com recently. Anywways, yes I'm looking for academics. I've been taking a year off before going to university, so I want to kick my brain back into gear.

various university puts up free lectures recorded in their classes on youtube on various subjects, but i think the khan websites covered alot.
one of my favorite online lectures/class though are from the: http://www.youtube.com/user/UCBerkeley#p/c/095393D5B42B2266
Berkeley's: Physics 10: Physics for Future Presidents. Spring 2006.
its actually a physics class that teaches the workings of physic theories without going too much into the mathematical details of it, which i find really interesting and the lecturer is pretty good and are pretty good at keeping the subject interesting through out the lectures, definately worth a checking out.

The classes on the site aren't free, but the forums and wiki are a great source for math problems and help. The math ranges from elementary school subjects to high school olympiad and graduate level math.
