I'm not the best Starcraft player, in fact I'm pretty mediocre, but I do have a certain love for the game, and, despite my terrible APM and my complete inability to multitask, I do have an enormous ability to sponge up and memorize vast amounts of theory and academic knowledge. I want a beta key so I can play online with my friends, have a good time, and practice, practice practice, because there's pride in doing anything well, especially if it's difficult. I'm a staunch believer in self-improvement, and learning skills and getting good at things is something I love to do more than anything else.

Ideally, I'd just throw down the five dollars for a pre-order and call it good, but I'm living on a fixed income and I have to save up what I can to take my cat to the vet for his bad hips, so I'm taking shot at various contests and having generally poor luck at them.

I'm crossing my fingers that you'll choose me, but, even if you don't, your generosity to strangers like this is vastly appreciated. ^^

There's quite a number of beta key contests revolving around "why" but upon further investigation, the key word here is "want".

Let's go from specific to general shall we?
I want one in order to rule the ladder and make a name for myself in the SC2 community.
I want one in order to play Terran and understand the true meaning of a mech build.
I want one in order to get ready for the release of SC2
I want one in order to play online with other people
I want one in order to play SC2 beta without downloading the lazytown loader.
I want one in order to play the latest game that's sure to be a hit.
I want one in order to jump the bandwagon.
I want one because the beta requires a key.

These are just examples which may or may not actually reflect my actual perspective of the beta.
Now if you asked "Why you deserve a SC2 beta key", then there'd be some more interesting answers involved.

I want a key because I've got a twisted ankle (having a surgery on the 13), and won't be able to walk for a while, and I'm getting sick from just watching streams, and i can't preorder the game from where i live.

I'm not the most deserving person tho, I'm sure theres a lot of better players than me who still haven't got a key. :/

I smashed my leg bones, and broke both ankles, along with that i have a fractured rip, and an injured nose. My toes are also decemated, and barely recognizable anymore. My hips are deformed so much it looks like a washer. The only thing i have functioning is my arm and my fingers, and my brain/eye site.

I deserve the key also because i am a lot better player than the quoted post, and i am 10x as more injured as he.

I tried to get one from Gamestop pre order but the store said they were out. So I ordered online and there was never an email. So I called Gamestop and they said it was the store's problem (I picked in-store pickup). Upon the return to the store they told me to call customer service. Customer service said to deal with the store, and now I can't even cancel my preorder either... on the other hand my friend got 3 keys unethically from Gamestop and gave them to his brothers

tl:dr Gamestop screwed me over

I've been playing SC since 2004, despite having only joined TL last year. I've never considered myself a gamer, because Starcraft has been the only game to ever captivate me in such a passionate manner. I'd love a beta key because it would allow me the opportunity to become an integral part of the community of the video game franchise that I love.

I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.

Out of my group of friends that play SC2, we only have one key to share amongst us. If we had another key we could actually play against each other and improve.

If you choose me for the beta key then you'll be giving about 5 other people a chance to play beta.

And if you choose me you can name our clan when we start one!

ive been playing competitve 1v1 scbw for over three years while consistently keeping up with the proscene. since they announced the sc2 beta ive been dying for a keep and have tried to get one from almost every facebook competition but failed. im a college student so im too poor to preorder but i really want to play and test my skills at sc2

I want to give a key to my friend who got me interested in starcraft by talking about "cattlebruisers" in 5th grade.

And that same friend in the same grade writing the entire SC story for a writing assignment but changing the ending to the overmind just being misunderstood and lonely and everybody becomes friends lmao
